“Why do I keep coming back to World Service Convention? When was the last time you were in a room with more than a thousand compulsive eaters working or working toward a program of recovery?” —Karen, OA member with a more than 200-pound (91-kg) weight loss.

Meeting Spotlight: The Early Bird Step Study Meeting has been meeting at 8:30 am on Saturday mornings for more than 20 years! Though the meeting is now at its third location, Kings Grant Presbyterian Church, 745 Little Neck Road, our format is virtually unchanged. Each week, we read a chapter from The Twelve Steps and Twelve Traditions of Overeaters Anonymous, 2nd Edition, except on weeks when we celebrate milestone anniversaries in recovery! Out last celebration was on March 15 when a member celebrated 17 years of continuous, back to back abstinence, and 100 pound weight loss for 16 years! The meeting is now hybrid, meaning you can attend in-person or virtually. Newcomers and returners are welcome- the only requirement is a desire to stop eating compulsively! If you want to pick up a copy of the book we study, it is available electronically on i-books and kindle...or you can order one from the bookstore at oa.org.
