Eliza Hope Foundation

Eliza Hope Foundation The Eliza Hope Foundation's mission is to provide educational support for children and families who are living with Autism and other developmental delays.

The mission of the Eliza Hope Foundation is to provide educational support for children and families who are living with Autism Spectrum disorders in the Hampton Roads area. We intend to carry out this mission by establishing a preschool completely dedicated to providing the special services, teachers and equipment necessary to meet the unique learning needs of these children. Eliza’s Story
Eliza

was a sweet, joyful and loving little girl. She loved popcorn and pinecones. She loved watching Frozen, Bubble Guppies and Mickey Mouse and she would listen to the song “Happy” all day long if she could. When Eliza was 16 months old she had her first seizure and after months of doctors’ appointments and neurology tests, she was diagnosed with intractable Epilepsy and Autism Spectrum Disorder at 2 years old. We soon learned that finding a place where Eliza could learn and grow would be an overwhelming task. Out of dozens of local preschools, the majority could not accommodate Eliza’s needs. After months of searching and hours of frustration, we were finally fortunate enough to find two schools that Eliza was able to attend and worked for our family. We want to honor Eliza’s life by helping families who have similar struggles. The best part of the day was watching Eliza wearing her backpack, happily walking to class alongside her teacher. Every child deserves that chance and every parent should be able to experience that moment. This is the wish we hope to fulfill through the Eliza Hope Foundation.

This is what our Hope Stars program looks like 💙✨

When you donate to The Eliza Hope Foundation, THESE are the smiles, friendships, and moments you are helping create for children with autism right here in Hampton Roads.

One of Aimee’s biggest dreams after having Eliza was simple… to have somewhere to go on a Saturday morning. A place where her child could play, connect, and just be a kid like so many of her friends with typical children experienced every weekend.

Now, Hope Stars is that place. 🌟

A safe, welcoming space where kiddos with autism can come play, explore, laugh, make friends, and simply hang out while families find community and support along the way.
Whether you join us to play, volunteer, or donate, you are helping create meaningful experiences and lifelong memories for these incredible children and families. 💙

Come be part of Hope Stars.

She made me a mama. 💛

And although I would give anything to have her here, I am so thankful that Eliza’s life became something so much bigger than our loss. Through her, we have been able to support, love, and walk alongside so many other mamas and families navigating hard seasons, grief, diagnoses, uncertainty, and heartbreak. 🦋

On a day that celebrates moms, I think about my TRIBE. The moms carrying invisible pain. The moms missing their babies. The moms trying to hold it together underneath their smiles. Today, I celebrate us and our angels.
To all my mommy friends, Happy Mother’s Day. May you always find patience in the chaos, kindness in your words, and joy in the middle of it all.

I love you, Eliza. I miss you every second of every day. You were such a miracle, and I am forever blessed to be your mama. 💛

No matter how many days, months, or years go by, today will always feel a little harder. I’ll forever wish for another tiny handprint on a coffee mug, another scribbled construction paper card, another hug.
But because of you, sweet girl, so many families have found hope, community, resources, support, and love when they needed it most. Your light continues to shine through every child, every mama, and every life touched by this mission.
So today, take a moment to be thankful if your road has been a little easier, and be gentle with those who may be struggling silently.

And remember… all of us mamas are just doing the very best we can. 😘

April may be coming to an end, but there are still a few more days to support something truly special. 💜

Throughout Autism Awareness Month, our friends at Eliza Hope Foundation and Roast Rider Coffee + Café partnered together to create Eliza’s (Fruit) Loopy Lavender Orange Matcha. A fun, colorful drink inspired by love, inclusion, and the incredible autism community we are honored to serve.☕️

Every sip helps raise awareness of the mission to create opportunities, support, and hope for children and families impacted by autism. If you haven’t tried it yet, there’s still time. Stop by, grab a drink, snap a photo, and help us celebrate a community that shines so brightly. 💛✨

Because when hope shines, it changes everything.

I don’t even know how to fully put this into words… but I am so incredibly thankful for this community 💛

When Eliza passed, you all showed up in ways I will never forget. And the truth is, so often when someone dies, there’s an outpouring of love in the beginning… and then it slowly fades. The world keeps moving, people stop saying their name, and it can feel like they’re being forgotten.

But not here. Not with you.

More than ten years later, Eliza’s name is still being spoken. Her life is still making waves. More people know her, more people are being touched by her sweet little life… and that is something I will never stop being grateful for.
And this weekend… my heart is so full. Thank you to every single person who poured the pink, set up stands, showed up, donated, and helped celebrate her birthday. Seeing her honored in such a beautiful, joyful way means more than I can ever express 💗🍋

Throughout the month of April, as we honor Autism Awareness, I’m reminded of how this community has wrapped its arms around not just me, but so many families walking this journey. The Eliza Hope Foundation exists because of love, because of Eliza… and because of all of you who continue to show up, year after year.

Thank you for never forgetting her. Thank you for helping her light shine on ✨xo, aimee
