'Breakaway Bay' is raising the bar! 🎉

Our staff-only food court, named 'Breakaway Bay,' is the first of its kind for Morrison and Compass One Healthcare, Sentara's food partner, and it’s now in the national spotlight.

Designed to provide 24/7 access to fresh grab-n-go meals and healthy snacks, Breakaway Bay ensures our care teams are nourished and supported around the clock. The idea was sparked by staff feedback and leadership that listened.

It’s inspiring a nationwide campaign for hospitals across the country to follow our lead and replicate, which was cause for a celebration at Breakaway Bay!💛

We are now the ninth Sentara location to offer Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy (HBO). This advanced treatment helps patients heal from chronic wounds, burns, infections, and tissue damage caused by cancer radiation treatments.

Patients who need HBO spend about two hours a day, five days a week, in a high-pressure chamber breathing pure oxygen — a powerful way to spark healing at the cellular level. Our trained technicians are there every step of the way.

Eight other Sentara hospitals in Virginia and North Carolina also offer this innovative care. 💛
