According to the AVMA, cats go to the vet half as often as dogs—even though they need annual checkups just as much!

Why? Cats are experts at hiding signs of illness. Conditions like kidney disease, dental problems, diabetes, and thyroid disorders can develop quietly, and by the time you notice symptoms at home, the disease may already be advanced.
