🦎 Most reptile emergencies aren’t random, they’re the result of slow, silent stress, building over time.

Without proper UVB, reptiles can’t make vitamin D₃.
Without vitamin D₃, they can’t absorb calcium, and without calcium, bones weaken and organs struggle.

If enclosure temperatures aren’t proper for the species, digestion slows.
If hydration or humidity isn’t right, kidneys suffer.
If diets aren’t species-appropriate, deficiencies develop.

By the time you see lethargy, swelling, fractures, or loss of appetite…the disease process is often pretty advanced.

Reptiles don’t crash overnight. Their bodies compensate - until they can’t.

Our scaly friends deserve to live their best life too! Make sure you’re researching proper care, bringing them in for annual exams, and always feel free to give us a call if you have questions 💙

Want a four legged friend but don’t want the fur? Check out the sphinx cat!

Known for their hairless look and oversized ears, Sphynx cats are full of personality. They’re affectionate, social, and often described as “dog-like” because they love following their people from room to room and curling up in warm laps.

But no fur doesn’t mean no maintenance! Sphynx cats require regular baths to remove skin oils, routine ear cleaning, and protection from cold temperatures and sun exposure. They thrive in warm homes and love cozy blankets and heated beds. 💙

If you’re looking for a playful, people-oriented companion and would rather a little extra skincare than fur, the Sphynx might be your perfect match!

Would you own a Sphynx? Tell us what you love most about this unique breed! 🐱

🐾 New puppy at home? Welcome to the adventure! 🐶💙

They’ve got tiny paws and big doe eyes, but they also have developing immune systems that need protection! That’s why veterinarians recommend a series of puppy vaccines, starting around 6–8 weeks of age, to guard against serious illnesses like parvovirus and distemper.

Vaccines work in stages, helping your puppy safely build immunity as they grow. Until that series is complete, it’s best to keep their world small - think backyard play, healthy (vaccinated) adult dogs you trust, and lots of snuggles at home. 🐾

Getting started early sets your puppy up for a lifetime of tail wags, park adventures, and happy, healthy years ahead!

📞 Call us or visit our website to schedule your puppy’s vaccine visit today!

Just like people, pets' cold tolerance can vary from pet to pet based on their coat, body fat stores, activity level, and health!

Be aware of your pet's tolerance for cold weather, and adjust accordingly. You will probably need to shorten your dog's walks in very cold weather to protect you both from weather-associated health risks.

Arthritic and elderly pets may have more difficulty walking on snow and ice and may be more prone to slipping and falling.

Long-haired or thick-coated dogs tend to be more cold-tolerant, but are still at risk in cold weather.

Be safe and stay warm! 💙

This is what we call the “kitty burrito” 🐱

Towel wrapping is a Fear Free, cat-friendly technique that helps our feline patients feel more secure during exams and treatments. By gently limiting movement and providing comforting pressure, towel wraps can reduce stress, prevent scratches, and keep both cats and our team safe.

When cats feel supported instead of restrained, visits are calmer, kinder, and more positive—for everyone involved! Because a little comfort goes a long way in building trust 🐾💙
