✨ Strategy Saturday: Parallel Play ✨
Parallel play is when children play side-by-side with similar toys or activities, without the expectation of direct interaction. While it may look like they’re playing “alone,” so much learning is happening!
This type of play helps children build comfort around peers, practice observing and imitating others, and develop independence at their own pace. Parallel play lays the foundation for future social skills—without pressure, demands, or forced interaction. 💛
Every child develops social skills differently, and parallel play is an important step along that journey.
