🌞 Motivation Monday

“Let us not become weary in doing good, for at the proper time we will reap a harvest if we do not give up.” — Galatians 6:9 🌾
It’s Monday… and I’ll be honest, some weeks it’s harder to stay consistent. But this verse reminded me that every fast, every small decision to stay disciplined, every “no” to temptation — it’s all planting seeds. 🌱

Even when you don’t see results yet, your body and spirit are being renewed. Keep showing up. Keep trusting the process. God’s timing is always perfect. 🙏

Good Morning, Non-toxic Fam!

This morning I reread a passage from one of the chapters in my book Fasting to Freedom, and it hit me all over again…

“When you’re hungry, you’re ready.
Hunger is the posture of pursuit.
Fasting takes that natural instinct and redirects it toward God.
You stop feasting on comfort and start craving communion.”

Every time I fast, I’m reminded that it’s not just about denying food — it’s about awakening my spirit. Hunger sharpens my focus. It quiets the noise. It reminds me that real satisfaction doesn’t come from a plate, but from His presence. 🙏

In those moments of weakness, that’s where my faith gets stronger. That’s where I learn to trust that God will sustain me — physically, emotionally, and spiritually.

I woke up reading this verse and it hit me hard:

“But when you fast, anoint your head and wash your face, so that your fasting may not be seen by others but by your Father who is in secret; and your Father who sees in secret will reward you.” — Matthew 6:17-18

It reminded me that our fasting journey isn’t really about showing the world how disciplined we are—it’s about the quiet work God is doing inside of us. The cravings, the discipline, the hunger—they’re all tools to help us turn inward, listen more closely, and grow stronger.

✨ So here’s my reminder for today:
You don’t have to shout your efforts. You don’t have to perfect everything. God sees the hidden progress, the quiet wins, the decisions you make when nobody’s watching—and He rewards that.

This verse hit me today — “Trust in the Lord with all your heart and do not rely on your own understanding; in all your ways acknowledge Him, and He will guide you on the right paths.” 💛

When it comes to fasting, health, or even our relationship with food — it’s so easy to overthink it, to lean on willpower, or to try to “figure it all out.” But sometimes, God just wants us to trust Him in the process.

Some days fasting feels effortless. Other days it’s a struggle. But through it all, He’s teaching us discipline, surrender, and how to listen — not just to our bodies, but to His voice. 🙏

💬 “You’re always starting over — and that’s okay. The key is to start gently. Don’t jump straight into 18:6 or 24-hour fasts on day one. Just decide when to close your eating window, drink plain water, and start small.”

Such a good word for a Monday. 🙌

Happy Friday, fasting fam!

In this Friday throwback from the Waist Away Podcast, Dr. Steven Gundry dropped one of his classic lines:
🍌 “Give fruit the boot!”

He explained that great apes — like orangutans — only gain weight during fruit season, and that fructose was never meant to be available 365 days a year. Today, fruit is bred for extra sugar content… and for many of us, that constant access can totally derail our fasting goals. 😅

It’s such a good reminder that fasting isn’t just about when you eat — it’s also about what you choose to break your fast with. 🥦

Let’s talk about something we don’t always think about — EMFs. 📱💡
They’re around us all the time… from our phones, Wi-Fi routers, Bluetooth devices, even the smart meters on our homes.

One of our podcast guests shared some simple, practical tips that really made me think:
✨ Don’t sleep in the same room with your phone — distance is your best friend!
✨ Turn off your Wi-Fi and Bluetooth at night.
✨ Try grounding — walk barefoot on the grass or even hug a tree 🌳 (yes, really — it helps discharge built-up electricity in your body).
✨ Avoid looking at blue light before bed — your eyes and your sleep will thank you.

It’s crazy how small habits like these can make such a difference in how you feel — calmer, clearer, and more balanced. 🌿
