MEET THE TEAM MONDAY ✨

We are SO excited to kick off Meet The Team Mondays with our newest Associate Doctor, Dr. Lina Elnakka! Dr. Elnakka began her career in Cairo, Egypt before moving to Virginia to complete the Doctor of Dental Surgery Program at VCU in 2020. She specialized in Periodontology and completed a Master of Science in Dentistry this year!

Dr. Elnakka believes in the adage “treat others the way they want to be treated” which motivates her to embrace life long learning to be able to deliver the best possible patient-centered care.

When she’s not in the office, she is an avid painter in acrylic and graphite and enjoys being outside in nature and attending cultural events.

We are so excited to have her join the Madan Periodontics family and we know you will love her too!

I am so grateful for Dr. Madan and her staff (Stacy) for their professionalism and experience during my Periodontal treatment. The procedure was so gentle and comforting almost fell asleep. it was truly unimaginable to go through a procedure this invasive and not be uncomfortable. They pulled it off however. Kudos to dr. We are looking for a highly motivated, positive person to assist in the prevention and treatment of oral disease, focusing on periodontal health by monitoring oral hygiene practices. Assisting the patient to develop a home care plan to maintain their oral health. Hygienists also give specific advice on prevention, nutrition, use of fluoride and smoking cessation.

Key Tasks/Responsibilities:

Provide dental health education about tooth care and diet
Remove plaque and calculus by scaling and polishing teeth
Apply prophylactic/antibacterial materials, fissure sealants and topical fluorides to help prevent tooth decay
Carry out screening and monitoring procedures, including oral cancer & periodontal evaluations
Treat and help prevent gingivitis and periodontitis
Ensure that sterile conditions are maintained
Clean and sterilize all equipment and working surfaces to the required standards at the end of each session
Use a range of different dental instruments
Maintain patient dental records; update all medical records as necessary
Take all reasonable methods to ensure patient comfort
Report equipment failures or breakages to the principle or practice manager, so that action may be taken to remedy any defects
Follow Health & Safety guidelines in all aspects including when taking x-rays, handling mercury, disposing of sharp and clinical waste, resuscitation, emergency procedures and fire drill
Offer advice and encouragement to patients
Follow all practice policies and procedures
Obey all dental ethical guidelines including all rules on confidentiality and Data Protection

Skills:
Outstanding communication skills
Patient and friendly personality
Attention to detail
Experience in preparing and maintaining dental equipment

Qualifications:
- Dental Hygiene License – State of Virginia

- Local Anesthesia Certified

- Associate or Bachelor’s degree in Dental Hygiene

- Efficiency in SoftDent is preferred, but not required.

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: $40.00 - $45.00 per hour
