While November SNAP benefits are affected by the federal government shutdown, Virginia Governor Glenn Youngkin declared a state of emergency to provide current SNAP customers with benefits through the Virginia Emergency Nutrition Assistance (VENA) program. November's full monthly benefit will be split into weekly distributions based on when customers typically receive SNAP benefits:
1st of the month, benefits will load weekly on Mondays.
4th of the month, benefits will load weekly on Wednesdays.
7th of the month, benefits will load weekly on Fridays.

How do you dispose of expired and unused prescription medications? Placing them in the trash can pose risks to public safety. That’s why we, along with Virginia Beach Police Department, are hosting a DEA National Rx Take Back Day collection site inside Lynnhaven Mall near the food court, 11 a.m. to 3 p.m., this Saturday, Oct. 25. If you're renewing or applying for Supplemental Nutritional Assistance Program (SNAP) benefits, you must provide verification of expenses such as shelter, utilities, daycare and medical. Acceptable verification includes a lease agreement, landlord statement, utility bill, daycare receipt, or medical bill.
