We are excited to announce that WAVY TV 10 Reporter Markeshia Jackson will moderate the VAACC Community Fall Festival Health Forum with Bon Secours Hampton Roads, Sentara Health and the Urban League of Hampton Roads, Inc.
Markeshia is an award-winning journalist who joined the WAVY team in June 2024, so if you haven’t seen her hanging out around town, then maybe you’ve seen her on the nightly news. She’s a nighttime reporter weeknights at 10 & 11 p.m. She has enjoyed her year-plus living in Virginia and is excited to continue to explore.
Before joining the WAVY team, Markeshia also reported in Texas and has worked with CBS News. She’s a Midwest girl at heart, though. Born and raised in Cincinnati, Ohio, she is a proud Xavier University alum. When not chasing her next big story, Markeshia is out exploring Virginia, traveling or spending time connecting with the community (like with us at the Community Fall Festival!).
Markeshia is a passionate storyteller who strives to give a voice to the voiceless and tell stories with a great impact. She is truly someone who strives to care and uplift the spiritual, physical and mental health of all.
