While everyone is making their end of the year achievements compilation videos....despite providing a home for 30 new animals in need....despite many of those being souls that nobody would have helped because of complex medical....there's only 1 story that speaks volumes about myself and our sanctuary.
Penny
We were put in an impossible situation by our local university hospital. Penny was overdosed with sedation for an MRI and left for dead. She was very much alive but the hospital refused to do the minimal necessary to save her.
I brought her home and did it myself. 4+ weeks of round-the-clock intensive care while still caring for all the other sanctuary residents. Penny nearly died multiple times but she fought as hard as I did.
That's the kind of sanctuary founder I am and the mission that I fight so hard for every single day. The hopeless cases, the disposable, the extreme amount of physical and emotional hard work.... We make Miracles happen and show these amazing babies just how worthy they are of life, respect, and love.
True rescue and sanctuary is not popular by social media standards....but it should be. No dog and pony show....just a glimpse at life in the trenches.
I'm not sure what this page will look like in 2026. I do know my dedication to the animals and my endless pursuit for their health, comfort and happiness will remain my only focus.
Thank you all who have been a part of this journey, a huge piece of the PPS family! You have helped me move many mountains this year!!! The piggies and I love you for your kindness, support, and generosity 💖
Happy New Year to you all!
