For our next supervisor spotlight we have Sergeant Evan Ruddock! Evan has been supervising for four years but has been guarding with VBLS for a total of six years. He loves hanging out with his coworkers and making a difference on the beach🛟 His favorite lunch spot at the Oceanfront is ! Last but certainly the most important, his biggest tip for all beach goers is alcohol and water do not mix, do not drink alcohol and go swimming🌊

Next up for Supervisor Spotlight is Captain Leif Carson! Leif has been with VBLS for 26 years, his first 2 summers were spent on stand but over the last 24 years he has worked as a supervisor and he’s now ranked as a Captain. Leif’s favorite thing is hosting his Night Ops swims with the guards! He loves to always refuel with while working. His biggest advice for every beach goer is “if in doubt, don’t go out!” 🌊

For our next supervisor spotlight we have Sergeant Noah Hood! Noah has been working with VBLS for six summers with this year being his fourth year supervising. He loves a nice lunch at and his favorite part about lifeguarding is hanging out with his coworkers and making a difference on the beach! His biggest tip for all beach goers is to never swim alone and to know your limits while swimming🛟

Happy Saturday! To end off January we are starting a new segment called “Supervisor Spotlight” to highlight all of our amazing supervisors. These supervisors put in countless hours of work during both in season and during the off season to make sure VBLS is the place to be.

Our first spotlight is Sergeant Hunter Barakey! Hunter is a 7th year who started supervising in 2022. Her favorite thing about lifeguarding is lining up her breaks with .isenhour to go body surf or any day she gets to work in the north end with ! her favorite place to grab a quick bite is & while she’s on the beach. She is currently getting her masters degree in biomedical sciences and is off to medical school in the fall! Her biggest tip for all beach goers is to swim near a lifeguard and to always ask the lifeguard on duty if you’re unsure about the water conditions!🛟

Every beach is different so make sure you research the beach you are visiting! As always, Swim near a lifeguard!!🛟
