Sometimes what your body needs isn’t massage — it’s mental or emotional space.

If you're feeling:
🌀 Overstimulated
😭 Emotionally overwhelmed
⚠️ Having a trauma response or panic symptoms
😣 Not ready for touch or connection

It’s okay to not come in.
Massage can help with nervous system regulation — but only if your body feels safe receiving it.

You don’t have to explain it. Just say you need to reschedule — and I’ll respect that fully.

If you're in your first trimester and haven’t had massage during pregnancy before, we’ll keep it light, safe, and skip certain techniques for now.

✅ I use a supportive belly-down pillow system (for 2nd–3rd trimesters)

✅ Sessions are tailored to your body’s changes

✅ Always check with your OB/midwife if you have a high-risk pregnancy

Massage is amazing for recovery — but it’s not a substitute for urgent medical care.

If you’ve recently experienced:
⚠️ A car accident
⚠️ A serious fall
⚠️ A possible sprain, tear, or fracture
⚠️ Sudden, sharp pain that limits movement

📣 Don’t book a massage — book an appointment with your doctor or physical therapist first.

Once you’re cleared or stable, I can absolutely help with the next phase of recovery. But step one is safety.

If you're feeling sick — a little under the weather—or your still getting over an illness. Please be kind to yourself and considerate to others and don’t come in.
Massage can actually make symptoms worse by increasing circulation. Plus, let’s be real: no one wants to be the reason their therapist or other clients get sick.

⛔ New congestion or cough
⛔ Recent exposure to illness

💬 There are times when booking a massage is NOT a good idea.

Massage is powerful and supportive — but it’s not a cure-all. There are moments when it’s unsafe, inappropriate, or when another form of care is simply more helpful first.

Over the next few posts, I’m going to break down when it’s better to wait — or skip massage altogether.
