We’re proud to share that our own Wilford Gibson, MD, FAAOS was recently interviewed by American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons (AAOS) and featured in an article highlighting his leadership and vision for the future of orthopaedic care.

Dr. Gibson currently serves as First Vice President of American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons and will become President at the AAOS Annual Meeting in March 2026. In the interview, he discusses collaboration, innovation, advocacy, and the Academy’s continued focus on improving musculoskeletal health for patients and the broader MSK community.

🏆 Champions Among Us! 🏈

A huge congratulations to and Taylor High School football teams on their incredible state championship wins! 🎉

The Maury Commodores capped off another remarkable season by winning their third straight Class 5 state title, completing an astounding 44-0 in-state record over the past three years. That’s true dominance on the field!

The Lake Taylor Titans added to their proud legacy as well, capturing their third state championship in the last 10 years—a testament to the strength and tradition of their program.

At Atlantic Orthopaedic Specialists, we’re honored to support these outstanding student-athletes as the official team physicians for Norfolk Public Schools. Congratulations to the players, coaches, families, and communities who made these victories possible!

🏆 Congratulations to the ODU Football team on an incredible 24–10 victory over USF in the 2025 StaffDNA Cure Bowl last night. This caps off an incredible 10-win season for the Monarchs.

We’re proud to serve as the team physicians for Old Dominion University Athletics, supporting these outstanding athletes. Special thanks to Dr. Bradley Butkovich and Dr. Michael Campbell, who were on the field taking care of the team during an unforgettable, nationally televised night on ESPN in Orlando.

Best of luck to the ODU Monarchs as they take the field tomorrow, Dec. 17, 2025, in Orlando for the Staffdna Cure Bowl 2025, facing the University of South Florida (USF). This marks the most prestigious bowl game in ODU football history, and our Monarchs have truly earned this moment.

This annual bowl game also supports groundbreaking cancer research, raising millions of dollars each year through the Orlando Sports Foundation, making this matchup meaningful both on and off the field.
