Do you a have a preference?
3 Key things to know about them:
1. Active Ingredient and Function:
Both Botox and Dysport use botulinum toxin type A to temporarily relax muscles, reducing the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles. They work similarly, but their formulations differ slightly, impacting their spread and onset of results.
2. Onset and Duration
Dysport often has a quicker onset, with results noticeable within 2-3 days, compared to Botox, which typically takes 3-5 days. However, both products generally last 3-4 months, depending on individual factors like metabolism and treatment area.
3. Molecular Differences and Spread
Dysport has smaller protein molecules, which can cause it to diffuse more broadly. This makes it ideal for treating larger areas, like the forehead, but less precise for small areas. Botox is often preferred for more localized treatments due to its more concentrated spread.
