Our Juneau Division is thrilled to recognize Prevocational Services client Tiffani for her outstanding efforts and positive attitude! Tiffani has been working incredibly hard to maintain a positive outlook with others and stay focused on her personal growth. VARC clients recently took an outing to Historic Downtown Greendale—a little suburban town so picturesque that it was dubbed "a town that Norman Rockwell would've painted." 🏘️ We stopped at the Rockwell Plaza to say hello to Rockwell's statue before glimpsing inside the vibrantly splattered Field Workshop. 🎨 Our final stop in Greendale was the Gift of Wings Ice Cream, Drones, and Flags shop, which had a variety of unique and fun items for sale. 🪁 We loved exploring Greendale, and can't wait to go back!

Another awesome client we are highlighting for month is Michael. 💪

Michael’s story is one of perseverance, growth, and inspiration. For over ten years, Michael has been an active participant in Prevocational Services, dedicating himself to learning job skills, building appropriate workplace relationships, and overcoming personal barriers that once felt insurmountable. 🤜💥🤛

Throughout his time at VARC, Michael worked diligently to develop the confidence and capabilities needed to thrive in a professional setting. His commitment to self-improvement and his positive attitude made him a role model for others in the program. Michael’s journey reached a new milestone when he successfully completed a 60-day internship at a local grocery store, showcasing his skills and reliability in a real-world work environment. 🛒

Michael was invited to interview for a permanent position at a Bent and Dent grocery store—a testament to his hard work and determination. He has now officially completed VARC’s prevocational program and will continue his employment journey with long-term support through our Supported Employment Services. 🥳

In his new role, Michael will be responsible for stocking shelves, maintaining a clean work area, and organizing the storage space. His success is a powerful reminder of what’s possible when individuals are given the tools, support, and opportunities to shine. We are proud of Michael and excited to see all that he will accomplish in this next chapter. 🧡
