Standing on the steps of progress in Washington, DC! 🏛️ VARC leadership spent last week advocating for our incredible clients with disabilities, connecting with national leaders (Senator Ron Johnson, Senator Tammy Baldwin, Representative Tom Tiffany, and Congressman Glenn Grothman) and sparking conversations about policy, inclusion, workforce, and opportunity.

From early morning briefings to impactful meetings, we’re proud to be a voice for Wisconsin and to help shape a brighter, more accessible future for all. 💪✨

There may be plenty of fish in the sea, but Vernon Division Day Services clients found the perfect one for their brand-new fish tank! 🐟 Our trip to PetSmart was an educational blast, and the crew discovered first-hand how diverse our finned friends are in the animal kingdom.

Our theme last week at VARC's Juneau location was Winter Sports, and our clients had a ball learning about events like the biathlon. 🥇🎿 These indoor-adapted winter activities were engaging, hands-on, full of excitement, and in some cases brand-new. We explored what it takes to ice fish, and now the clients are especially interested in trying it someday! 🎣❄️

Become the next chapter of The Cheese Corner's story. 🧀

It's been an honor for us to steward Viroqua's most beloved local deli. ❤️ We hope to find a buyer who values the history and community spirit of The Cheese Corner, while also welcoming conversations with those who may bring new ideas for the space. Either way, our goal is the same: to honor what has been built and support what comes next. 🤲🌱

We ended our 50th year on a high note at the glamorous VARC New Year's Eve Fundraising Gala in La Crosse, celebrating half a century of inclusion and empowerment for those with varying abilities. 🎉 The community really showed up for us on New Year’s, helping us raise $56,185 to support and strengthen the programs that create opportunity, connection, and community inclusion for those we serve. ✨

This evening of revelry served as a pivot point in our timeline, allowing us to reflect on the past five decades and express gratitude to the movers, shakers, and leaders who brought us here. 🫶 One memorable moment of the night was the presentation of the VARC Legacy Award to Tony Ugo, VARC’s former Chief Executive Officer, for his innovative spirit, unwavering commitment to excellence, and compassionate vision for our organization. 🏆 Tony’s guidance heavily shaped the operational blueprint from which VARC sprang, and from this strong foundation, we embrace the start of another bright fifty years ahead. ✨

We would like to thank the sponsors, guests, donors, and staff who made this glittering night of revelry possible. Our captivating host, Yve Rojas, absolutely shone, lending her charisma and excitement to an unbelievably triumphant live auction. 💃💸 Sam Douglass - DJ Dougie's vibrant spirit and musical verve seamlessly blended current hits with classics, bringing joy to a dance floor filled with dancers of all ages. 🎶🪩

Our 4th Annual New Year’s Eve Gala was a dream come true for us, and we thank the community for coming together to show their support. 🧡
