What a fun-filled, exciting day at our JMA Competition – Fall 2025 Session! 🎉
We were thrilled to welcome schools from Tulare Unified School District and Visalia Unified School District, with students in grades 4–6. Students came focused and ready to compete, showcasing everything they’ve learned throughout the semester.
A huge thank you to all the staff, instructors, aides, volunteers, school site directors, and of course our amazing students for coming together to make this event such a success.
We can’t wait to see what the Spring 2026 season has in store!

As we close out this week, we want to acknowledge Crohn’s & Colitis Awareness Week. 💜
In our Junior Medical Academy program, one of our core lessons focuses on the digestive system how it works, why it matters, and the healthcare professionals who care for it.
JMA gives students the opportunity to explore the many diverse careers in healthcare, from clinical to non-clinical roles, and discover the paths that inspire them most.

Thank you to everyone who joined us for the Riverdale HS JMA Program 2025 Parent Showcase! 🏫✨
We had an amazing turnout for our first high school pilot program, and the students are truly enjoying the lessons, instructors, and aides.
A special thank you to Mr. Moore, Assistant Superintendent of Riverdale Joint USD, and Riverdale HS Principal Mrs. Wilson, for their continued support.

🎄✨ Candy Cane Lane Parade Magic! ✨🎄
Even though it was a chilly 43° last night, the 79th Annual Candy Cane Lane Parade in Downtown Visalia was overflowing with holiday spirit! ❤️💚
This was our 2nd year participating, and we couldn’t be more proud of our Junior Medical Academy students, instructors, staff, and aides for bringing the energy, smiles, and sparkle.
We also debuted our mascot, Kenzo, for the very first time and he was a hit! 🐢 ✨
A huge thank you to the incredible team who came together to make the night truly memorable. We already can’t wait to see what next year’s theme will be!

In the JMA Program, Students Learn How Lung Health Impacts Lives and How Respiratory Therapists Make a Difference
Airway and lung inflammation can be caused by allergies, asthma, infections, smoking, and more. When swelling and excess mucus block the airways, it becomes harder for the lungs to get oxygen into the blood. This can lead to wheezing, fatigue, and labored breathing and in severe cases, serious complications like ARDS.
That’s why Respiratory Therapists (RTs) play such a vital role in healthcare.
In our JMA program, students explore respiratory therapy as a career, learning how RTs assess breathing problems, perform lung function tests, create treatment plans, operate ventilators, administer inhaled medications, and teach patients techniques to breathe easier.
It’s a career that truly helps people breathe and live better.

✨ On Saturday, our Career Pathways team visited the CHSU Clovis Campus Simulation Center an innovative, state of the art hub for interprofessional medical education in the Central Valley.
We explored the realistic In Patient Hospital Wing, the Out Patient Wing where students work with Standardized Patients, and the cutting edge holographic anatomy classroom using HoloAnatomy™ and HoloLens 2™.
A truly inspiring look at the future of medical learning! 🩺🌟
