The Starlight Foundation is an amazing nonprofit dedicated to bringing happiness to seriously ill children. Partnered with Disney, they offer free toys to hospitals with pediatric units through their Starlight Deliveries program. We "unboxed" our first two deliveries with pediatrics nurses Wednesday and what fun it was! Mickey gowns, princess wheelchair covers, lots of legos ... we are so grateful for all of it! We were even able to let a young patient just discharged choose a lego set to take home.

As we get ready to remodel our pediatrics unit through the Tiny Feet, Big Steps campaign, it's so great to know the Starlight Foundation is helping our youngest patients get better through play as well as through medicine!

Congratulations to the winners of the Foundation's Grand Vacation and Diamond Necklace drawings, held at this year's Golf Classic. Lisa Torres (Pediatrics Charge Nurse) won the $2,500 Grand Vacation and Yolanda Gomez (Medical Assistant at Exeter Clinic) won the diamond necklace.

Thank you to all who took part in the drawings, you helped support the Tiny Feet, Big Steps Campaign to improve and update Kaweah Health's Pediatrics and Surgical Recovery units. We're well on our way to raise more than $3 million dollars for this important project.

The most important people at the Kaweah Health Golf Classic are our amazing volunteers! They check people in, deliver food, watch for holes in one, and so much more. We thanked them today with the annual volunteer luncheon. It's so great to see familiar faces and new ones, too!
