Amazing time with American Legion Post 18 in Visalia today, as they held a ride to benefit the Kaweah Health Crisis Stabilization Unit that opened late 2025. Veteran su***de is a massive concern, with 22 vets a a day dying from su***de. We're so grateful these caring vets decided to help with youth su***de as well! Special thanks to Alex Sandoval, a social worker in the Kaweah Emergency Department and at the CSU, for talking about how important youth mental health care is!

Today was the first We Give Wednesdays day at Kaweah Health, where we asked our Employee Donors to "step up" as our Step Up Squad and proudly wear their new T-shirts. They look awesome, don't they!

Around half of Kaweah Health employees give to the Foundation through employee giving, with funds taken right from their paychecks. Their amazing generosity ensures we can continue with the many projects we help fund at Kaweah, including our current campaign, Tiny Feet, Big Steps, to remodel both the pediatric and surgical short stay units.

Any employee donors who don't have a shirt yet can contact the Foundation to get one. We are ordering more sizes too. Then wear your shirt the first Wednesday of each month - the next one is April 1st (no foolin').

Have you signed up yet for the Run to Remember? This walk/run will give participants the opportunity to remember a loved one they've lost while enjoying the beauty of Mooney Grove Park. In addition, post-race there will be a water lantern ceremony to commemorate loved ones. To sign up, visit kaweahhealth.org/runtoremembersignup - children welcome too!

The race will take place at 5:30 p.m. on Saturday, April 25. The day will also feature food trucks, booths with information on hospice and bereavement services, and places for art, photos and more. We can't wait to see you at the finish line!

Thank you to College of the Sequoias students who took part in Random Acts of Kindness day last week - they decorated and donated food, gifts, gift cards and tickets to our hospital Pediatrics and Mother/Baby departments and to Hospice's Ruth Wood Open Arms House. Just look at these spreads! They went all out and brought smiles to many faces.

We've added up the receipts from the Moonshine Soiree, and wow - the event brought in more than $175,000 for Kaweah Health Hospice and Ruth Wood Open Arms House. We cannot thank the donors and live and silent auction bidders enough for making Moonshine a dream come true.

All proceeds will go toward ensuring local residents get end-of-life care, no matter their financial circumstances. Families and patients will get the support they need - physical, psychological, and spiritual. And no one ever has to die alone.

Kaweah Health Hospice is a not-for-profit hospice that has been providing end of life services in Tulare County and Kings County for over 35 years. They serve both adult and pediatric patients. A team of physicians and registered nurses is available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, to provide expert management of pain and other symptoms. With your gift, we can care for all who need help at this special time of life.

You can still donate! Visit https://secure.qgiv.com/for/hospicegeneraldonations/

Last night's Moonshine Soiree was a breathtakingly beautiful evening full of fun, laughter and good times raising funds for Kaweah Health Hospice. Yes, tears were shed hearing the stories of people helped by Hospice, but through the tears we could see the hope and heartfelt care Hospice gives families. Thank you to our sponsors, guests, speakers, Hospice board members, and everyone who helped make this such a memorable event. More photos and details to come!
