Pain is present because your nervous system perceives movement as a threat.

What’s the first thing, and most important, you can do to reduce pain levels?

Down-regulate your nervous system.

Movement alone isn’t effective enough.

A well-rounded approach that addresses life stressors and overall capacity is the best route to take when dealing with chronic pain.

It’d be really hard to dry yourself off if you were still sitting in the pool.

The environment around you can make it really difficult to improve health habits.

The people in your life can make it really difficult or make it a lot easier.

That’s why we pair you with a coach.

Someone you can rely on.

Someone you know supports your change you aspire to create.

Someone who can walk alongside you.

The thing that tends to get left out when losing weight/building muscle?

That you have to believe you’re someone capable of doing it.

How do you do that?

You don’t do it by writing affirmations on your mirrors.

You do it by following through on the things you told yourself you’d do.

By showing up when conditions aren’t perfect.

When you’re a little tired and sitting at home sounds nicer than physical exertion.

When you’ve had the long day yet you choose a meal at home versus drive-thru fast food.

When you have a million things to do in the day and you still choose to pause, take walks, and decompress.

You stack evidence by doing.

The more you stack, the easier it is to believe you’re that version of you you’re striving to be.

Why?

Movement is one of the best things you can do for your body.

And when you’re in pain a lot of the times it needs addressing in certain capacities in order to improve what is going on.

When you remove movement you remove blood flow, any necessary stimulus, mental/psychological benefits. All things that contribute to healing.

You also add in fear. Fear of movement, fear of exercise, fear of getting worse.

We’d argue this is the worst thing to come from stopping exercise when in pain.

Limiting beliefs get formed.

Confidence dwindles.

Physical capability reduces.

These things can exacerbate pain and make it a lot harder to recover fully.

Addressing the root cause.

It’s the most effective and efficient way to create change that STICKS.

We’re not fans of quick fix, fast path “solutions”.

Because those aren’t solutions.

They’re eye dressing.

If you want the solution address what matters.

If you’ve been training hard for a period of time with no results to show for it there’s something being missed.

We see it all the time.

Talking with prospective clients that workout 5-6x/week and no body composition change.

Months of rehab and still in pain.

Part of what doesn’t get touched on is what’s going on in daily life and how that drastically affects your baseline.

There’s more to it than how much you’re working out and how hard you’re working out.

Things like daily lifestyle factors: stress, diet, sleep, psychological health and social health all play a role.

Reduce your baseline load and you’ll see a lot of things start to improve.

Our hearts are full this year.

To be in the trenches with you is a blessing.

We sit today with a little more gratitude than normal.

To work with such amazing people who are committed to bettering themselves so they can show up better in the world.

To have a team dedicated to a mission that seems outlandish at times.

To have clients that have such great hearts.

We’re grateful.

For all of you.

For relationships.

For trusting us.

For health.

For better humans.

Happy Thanksgiving to all. 🙏🏽

The way in which you train and exercise matters.

Random process leads to random results, or no results at all.

If you’re looking to solve a specific problem then there needs to be a specific system built for you in order to create long-lasting change.

Intentionality with your physical health leads to physical freedom.

We’re here for different reasons.

But all in all we’re here to be better humans.

Isometrics. Our people know them as ISOs. And they love seeing them every time they’re on their program!

One of those sneaky protocols that look so easy yet when you get into them you find out quick that they’re hard as hell.

We don’t use them just for the sake of making you wish you weren’t doing them.

They’re a great asset in training when it comes to improving tendon health, improving joint health or improving a range of motion that you don’t feel you can get into very well.

ISOs. Use them well and use them often.
