Last month, we had a farewell party for our wonderful Assisted Living resident Khay, who is moving out of state. None of us wanted to part, so there were tears shared by all. But it was wonderful to celebrate her.

While it is a happy move (her son has a new job out of state and Khay is moving to remain close to him), this was a bittersweet farewell for all us. Khay has been a wonderful part of the Park Visalia community. She was a member of our New Resident Welcome Committee, a resident Council Member, and she organized weekly resident Bible study. She would leave colorful index cards with motivational scripture around the community for staff.

We will miss you, Khay, and are sending you lots of care for this next chapter 💛

Before we officially end April, we want to acknowledge April’s Employee of the Month — Madysen!

Madysen is one of our Assisted Living caregivers. She has been with us for over a year. She provides such loving care with such a positive attitude, and she is willing to help wherever she is needed. It’s not just the young folks who enjoy a night of poker. Good thing too because poker, as with many games, has a lot of benefits.

It exercises the memory, provides cognitive stimulation like pattern recognition, and requires focus and patience. There’s also the physical dexterity of shuffling, dealing, and organizing cards. We can’t forget healthy competition which builds social connections and fosters camaraderie. But most important, it’s fun and gives residents and staff a good excuse to sit together and play! What more could you ask for ☺️ ♠️♥️♣️♦️💛

Last friday we had a blast hosting loved ones for our friends and family BBQ in our park next to our community. It was a beautiful sunny day. We decorated with balloons, fresh citrus, and even vines grown on the property. The culinary team prepared tri-tip, baked beans, macaroni salad, rice pilaf, and a blood orange refresher. We are so grateful to everyone who came out to join us! A big part of a healthy and happy senior living community is the friends and family that are involved and connected. We are so grateful for our community and the wider community that comes with it 💛

Last week a small group of our Assisted Living and Memory Care residents opted to head to Mooney Grove Park with our Lifestyle Director, Rachel, and her assistant, Liz. They enjoyed a picnic of sandwiches and chips packed by our culinary team and then headed to the Park’s historical museum. The residents absolutely loved it! There was so much to learn and see. Many residents wanted to return — and so we’ll be headed back next month!

We are unbelievably proud of our Park Visalia Memory Care team who were awarded the Clinical Crushers Award by Allen Flores for their superb work for all of 2025.

We work with Allen Flores to make sure that all our Carefield Living communities operate at their highest levels. To understand this accomplishment, we want to share a little more about the Clinical Crushers Award.

Communities who participate in competition for this award earn the monthly recognition of Top of the Class based on their perfect performance administering meds and submitting all monthly assessments on time. Park Visalia Memory Care received Top of the Class recognition more times throughout the year than the competition, thus earning the Clinical Crushers Award.

Nurse Lori of Allen Flores flew to Visalia to present this award to our team at our community. We want to give a special shout out to Jocelyne, Lo, Lori, and Karyna (pictured here). This team worked tirelessly all year to ensure these perfect scores! Congratulations! We are so proud of you!
