A warning to the public to not sign up for Anthem Blue Cross HMO Dual Advantage SNP (Special Needs Plan). It is not as great as it seems. Most likely you will get a solicitor calling for you to make a change from your traditional Medicare/ Medicaid. The State/ Federal funded traditional Medicare/ Medicaid has more flexibility and freedom for you to choose doctors and medical services without a prior authorization. Also you are only allow to use in-network doctors otherwise you will have to pay privately on your own. Although this Anthem Blue Cross Special Needs Plan indicates that you can apply for prior authorization (which can take 2 weeks or longer and in some cases authorization is deny), but who want to hassle with that. In addition, the sales person will promise you a $85.00 a month loaded to a Visa card as an incentive for groceries and pharmacy items. Later to find out that only one grocery store in each county that accept this card, contrary to what the sales person reported.
