🧠Let's talk about mental health and teen su***de prevention🧠
Our HERE Now Program Manager, Catherine Torres, joined KOCT to speak about su***de prevention and the services we provide at Lifeline Community Services.
Su***de is the second leading cause of death among kids aged 11-18 and 90% of kids who die by su***de demonstrate warning signs of suicidal intentions.
Our therapists not only screen for depression, anxiety, and other mental health disorders, but they work to prevent youth su***de, suicidal ideation, and help foster safe school environments through education and bullying prevention programs. Our program helps teachers recognize and respond to warning signs, reduce social stigma attached to those seeking mental health support, prevent bullying, and helps identify vulnerable youth before they attempt to harm themselves.
Our team provides a Lifeline for youth, with the goal that we will walk alongside them in their journey to mental health and economic empowerment.
