🌸 Interview with Crepe Myrtle 🌸
Me: Everyone knows you for your pink, purple, and white blossoms. But do you have gifts beyond beauty?
Crepe Myrtle: I do. My bark and leaves contain natural compounds that support balanced blood sugar, calm inflammation, and soothe digestion.
Me: How do you help with blood sugar?
Crepe Myrtle: My leaves hold bioactive compounds that improve glucose tolerance and support the body in metabolizing sugar more effectively.
Me: And what about inflammation?
Crepe Myrtle: I’ve long been used for swelling, aches, and minor discomfort. My bark and leaves can be applied as compresses or brewed to help the body find relief.
Me: Do you also support digestion?
Crepe Myrtle: Yes. A mild tea from my young leaves calms the stomach, eases bloating, and encourages healthy digestion.
Me: Can your flowers be used too?
Crepe Myrtle: They can. My flowers are gentle and often added to teas for a calming, cooling effect, especially in the summer heat.
Me: Do you offer protection against microbes?
Crepe Myrtle: I do. Extracts from me carry antimicrobial properties that help defend the body and support wound care.
Me: How should someone work with you safely?
Crepe Myrtle: Start with a light tea. My leaves are strong, so you don’t need much. As with any herb, listen to your body and don’t overdo it.
Me: What is the wisdom you carry?
Crepe Myrtle: True strength can be soft. I remind you that beauty and healing can grow side by side, graceful yet powerful.
