NFIRS Sunset - December 10, 2025
The National Fire Incident Reporting System (NFIRS) will be decommissioned on January 31, 2026. This is the last day fire departments can access their full historical NFIRS data using eNFIRS applications. Starting February 2026, NFIRS will no longer be available to users.

If your fire department needs to export incident data from NFIRS, there’s still time to make a plan. Consider the following questions when making a plan for your data.

What data do you need?
What records retention policies does your agency, state or local jurisdiction have?
What data you already have?
Remember that data in eNFIRS is often a subset of local incident data. If your fire department uses a records management system (RMS), your local data may be more comprehensive than the data available in eNFIRS.
Check out the NFIRS Sunset webpage (https://www.usfa.fema.gov/nfirs/sunset/) for more helpful tips about exporting your incident data.

Be prepared for the full transition of NFIRS to the new National Emergency Response Information System (NERIS).

We are so happy to announce that HEAT Safety Equipment Grant writing services has landed Lakeshore VFD grants to secure some MUCH needed stabilization equipment!

Through a partnership with the San Antonio Area Foundation and private donors we have secured new equipment to replace the old and broken stabilization equipment that Chief Eric Frazier and his crews "Made work."

Airbags, struts, jacks, all new stabilization equipment to replace the old and broken equipment that is essential on a vehicle rescue! Equipment the department couldn't otherwise afford to replace, yet desperately needed.

Chief Frazier stated "Without Heat Safety this new equipment wouldn't be possible! You guys are a HUGE help and have our admiration."

Heat Safety Equipment is here to help fire departments accomplish their mission! You folks are willing to risk everything to help others, we want to make sure you have the equipment you deserve to do the job as safely as possible!

Heat safety Grant services are free of charge and have NO obligation to use the money with our company! This is truly a service to help strengthen the fire service in Texas!
