☀️Therapist Spotlight☀️: Meet Beth Fleischman, one of A Brighter Tomorrow’s LCSW’s! Beth earned her undergraduate degree in Family Studies from the University of Maryland and her Master of Social Work from Rutgers University. She initially began a career in community mental health, later moving on to work with children and families in crisis by providing intensive in-home family and individual therapy. Beth then transitioned to seeing clients in an outpatient setting, taking three years to study and train in Sandplay therapy. After nearly twenty years in the field, Beth’s passion and area of interest remains in working with children, teens, and their families who struggle with the far reaching effects of mental illness. Within sessions Beth utilizes Sandplay therapy, Creative & Expressive Therapies (art, clay, drawing, journaling, poetry, etc.), play-type therapy activities, Mind-Body Connections, Meditation, and Stress-Management, as well as traditional psychotherapy modalities. ☀️Therapist Spotlight☀️: Meet Lisa Shorter, one of A Brighter Tomorrow’s LPC’s! Lisa received her undergraduate degree from Rutgers University and her Master’s degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from The College of New Jersey. In addition to being an LPC, she is also a National Certified Counselor (NCC), with over six years of experience. She has worked in a variety of settings including schools, intensive-in-home, and outpatient, with clients of all ages. Lisa believes in a holistic approach with a focus on Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy, and infuses Strengths-based and Mindfulness interventions. Her specialties include anxiety, trauma, grief/bereavement, relationship issues, depression, parenting issues, and social/school refusal. ☀️Therapist Spotlight☀️: Meet Stephanie Leifer, A Brighter Tomorrow’s Clinical Director and LCSW! Stephanie received her BA in Psychology from Bucknell University and her MSW from NYU Silver School of Social Work in 2013. She has also been certified in clinical supervision since 2020. Stephanie deeply enjoys working in the mental health field and has worked in a variety of settings including a voluntary inpatient psychiatric unit, partial hospitalization, and intensive outpatient. She has experience running groups, holding individual and family sessions, and performing crisis intervention and case management. Stephanie has worked as both clinician and coordinator for mental health programming and has worked with individuals with a variety of diagnoses, including co-occurring ones. She specializes in working with adults 18 years of age and up where she lends a kind, empathetic ear for active listening and support, and provides concrete skills to help with coping with every day life, major life struggles, and transitions. Amanda completed her MSW from Rutgers University and has been in the field for over 12 years in a variety of settings including court-appointed Guardian Ad Litem work, inpatient social work and admissions, juvenile justice, intensive in-home treatment, and individual and family therapy. Within sessions she utilizes both strengths-based and solutions-focused approaches. Amanda opened ABT in 2019, striving for excellence in every aspect since. At ABT we focus on customer service, client support, and providing a relaxing and aesthetically appealing environment. 📢 CALLING ALL SLEEPYHEADS: Today is World Sleep Day! 💤 Good quality sleep is an integral part of our mental wellness. Memory, mood, attention, and decision-making are all heavily impacted by poor sleep habits and sleep disorders. In fact, according to the Centers for Disease Conrol and Prevention, 1 in 3 adults are not getting enough nightly sleep. (Now that is A LOT of forgetful, cranky, inattentive, indecisive people…) So go ahead. Sleep in a little. You deserve it 😉🥱
