South Jersey Holistic Medicine is the practice of Polina Karmazin, MD, a board certified physician in Integrative medicine and acupuncture.

At South Jersey Holistic Medicine, a Holistic Pain Management and Integrative Medicine practice, we strive to provide our patients with the finest medical care available and look forward to developing a close and lasting relationship with you and your family. Dr. Karmazin employs a Functional Medicine approach, which aims to address the root of the problem rather than just treating the symptoms. She uses well-proven and safe modalities such as homeopathy, acupuncture and biopuncture. Dr Karmazin spends time with her patients, listening to their histories and looking at the interactions among genetic, environmental, lifestyle factors and nutrition, that can influence long-term health and complex, chronic disease. We specialize in holistic pain control and do not use narcotics, NSAIDs or steroid injections. Instead, we use biopuncture and acupuncture, which are highly effective modalities for acute and chronic pain and sport injuries. They promote true healing by addressing the root of the problem. With the recent increase in opioid addiction and death in our region, our methods provide a superior alternative to opioid-based drug treatments while eliminating the possibility of future drug dependency

Microcurrent Electrical Neuromuscular Stimulator (MENS)
A small electrical current can supercharge your healing – and you won’t feel a thing. The Microcurrent Electrical Neuromuscular Stimulator (MENS) can speed tissue healing while reducing pain. A very low-voltage microamperage current (millionths of an ampere) is applied to the skin and passed to the affected nerves or tissues to stimulate the body’s healing process. You won’t feel any pain from the electrical current.

Sphenopalatine Ganglion Block (SPG)
The sphenopalatine ganglion (SPG) block is a well-established treatment for acute and chronic pain. It is effective in relieving of a wide variety of pain conditions ranging from headaches to low back pain.
The sphenopalatine ganglion is a collection of nerves located behind the nasal passages. Pain can be the result of the nerves being aggravated by trauma, infection or other causes. The SPG block is the application of a local anesthetic onto the SPG to stop the pain.

Sometimes conventional medicine—a prescription medication, for example—is not effective at treating chronic pain associated with certain medical conditions, such as fibromyalgia or rheumatoid arthritis.
