Let’s talk about: Self-Esteem 😎☺️🏆
If you have seen me for therapy, the chances are you have had me ask you these questions (or similar ones) - in groups of 3’s to try to shape your negative core beliefs into more productive beliefs. Why is this important?
⭐️Self-Esteem is more than just “confidence.” It’s the way we see ourselves, the value we believe we have, and the quiet voice in our mind that tells us whether we’re enough.
When someone struggles with low self-esteem, it often shows up as:
• Constant self-doubt
• Negative self-talk
• Staying in unhealthy relationships
• Difficulty setting boundaries
• Feeling unworthy of happiness, stability, or success
These beliefs don’t come from nowhere—they’re often shaped by past experiences, trauma, or how we were treated by others growing up.
In therapy, we don’t just try to “boost confidence.” We work to:
• Identify the core beliefs you hold about yourself
• Understand where those beliefs came from
• Challenge the negative narratives that no longer serve you
• Build self-compassion instead of self-criticism
• Help you develop healthier relationships—with others and with yourself
Because the truth is: the way you see yourself impacts everything—your choices, your relationships, your goals, and your overall mental health.
Healing self-esteem isn’t about becoming perfect.
It’s about learning to see yourself clearly, treat yourself with kindness, and believe that you are worthy—just as you are.
