Good Sunday morning. I want to share a beautiful video. It's wonderful to see how gently this tuna is handled, to the gorgeous selection of knives for each step, to how beautifully it's cut and presented. Enjoy!

“If you don’t love life you can’t enjoy an oyster; there is a shock of freshness to it and intimations of the ages of man, some piercing intuition of the sea and all its weeds and breezes. [They] shiver you for a split second.”

Hi everyone - after a long hiatus, W&R is back! I will be posting food stories and vids from around the world that I find beautiful and worthy of sharing. If you have a story or suggestion please send it over. I'd love to chat.

This one came from a close friend of mine who's also one of my favorite chefs that I've ever had the honor to work with. This story has some gorgeous pics and stories from people around the world with their food.

Thanks and be well,
- Jeff

Welcome friends and followers everywhere. After a long couple of topsy-turvy years - like so many of us have had - I'm re-launching the Wine & Roses page.

I'll be sharing some great food, drink, and people stories and events like before. If you have any ideas or things you'd like to share, please don't hesitate to send them over.

I hope everyone's well. Thanks and speak soon!

This is one of my favorite food shows. Padma Lakshmi speaks about food so genuinely and how it’s so, so much more than just something to eat.

I was just texting about the show with one of my closest friends who is also one of my favorite and most talented chefs that I’ve ever known.

With Padma Lakshmi, Preet Bharara, Vera Chan-Waller, Scott Chang-Fleeman. Host Padma Lakshmi takes audiences on a journey across America, exploring the rich and diverse food culture of various immigrant groups, seeking out the people who have so heavily shaped what American food is today.

In all the years that I've had this Wine & Roses page I've never recommend buying a product - until now.

Brooklyn's own, Kings County distill some of the finest whiskeys in the world and are some of my favorites. They stand up richly and elegantly to any of the world's finest.

I am thrilled and excited to taste this bourbon if I can get my hands on a bottle.

We are incredibly excited to announce the 750ml and latest release of BARREL STRENGTH BOURBON! Barrel proof is arguably where there is most audience excitement right now in American whiskey and our entry into this hottest (right?) category has always been met with praise from critics & enthusiasm from customers. Our latest edition barrel strength bourbon has a 3 year age statement, but contains barrels as old as 5.7 years.

This is intense, flavorful, versatile bourbon at 63.7% abv (128 proof). Notes of blackberry, fig, raisin, to***co, brown sugar, toasted oak, and dried cherry on the nose, with ripe vine fruit, wild cherry, dark caramel, gingerbread, and a hint of cream soda on the palate. Never chill filtered, this is a richly textured, velvety whiskey for being such a high proof. We encourage blind tasting with other whiskeys of similar proof for a fun comparison. There are higher proof barrel strength whiskeys in the market, but none smoother than ours. LINK IN STORY. THIS WILL SELL OUT. tasting.

Here is my new wine decanter system that I built using a 2,000ml Pyrex flask, a laboratory grade metal rack, a standard wine aerator, and size 26 lab corks.

I chose a larger 2,000ml flask to increase the surface area once the wine is decanted.

It works great. Happy Saturday night everyone!
