🍂 Happy Fall Ya’ll! 🍁

This season, our facility has been graced with a very special guest! The Waters of Wabash West would like you to meet Warmhearted Wilbur! More than just a scarecrow, Wilbur has become a beloved member of our community, bringing smiles, laughter, and a touch of whimsy to everyone he meets.

Wilbur has been a true team player, helping us decorate and fill our space with festive cheer. Whether he's perched in the lobby or joining in on activities, our residents have loved spotting Wilbur and welcoming him into their daily routines. His presence has sparked joy, conversation, and even a few friendly games of “Where’s Wilbur?”

But Wilbur represents more than seasonal fun—he’s a reflection of the family atmosphere we cherish and the compassionate care our staff provide every day. His warmhearted spirit reminds us that joy can be found in the smallest moments and that together, we create a home filled with love and connection.
Thank you to everyone who helped bring Wilbur to life and make this fall unforgettable.

There’s something special about preparing a meal together—and our residents know it well!

During September’s Resident Council meeting, the chosen Meal of the Month featured fresh snapped green beans. So we rolled up our sleeves for an afternoon of snapping together! 🫛

Cooking activities like these do more than fill the room with delicious aromas—they promote independence, boost confidence, and keep fine motor skills sharp. They also spark cherished memories and a sense of purpose that comes from contributing to something shared.

Once the beans were ready, it was time to unwind with a classic Sloe Gin Fizz during happy hour—the perfect blend of tradition, taste, and togetherness.

Here’s to meals made with love and memories made in the kitchen. 👩‍🍳✨

We did it! A HUGE thank you to everyone who supported our team in this year’s Walk to End Alzheimer’s. Together, we raised $950 toward the event total of $229,756.72! 👟💜

Every dollar donated, every step walked, and every story shared helps the Alzheimer's Association provide critical support to families in our community—and fuels the fight for a world without Alzheimer’s.

The Waters is proud to be part of this movement. We will keep walking, sharing, and giving until Alzheimer’s is just a memory.

We’re proud to share that the 85 Hope Free Medical Clinic Breast Cancer Awareness Golf Outing was a huge success! 💗⛳️

Thanks to everyone who participated and supported the cause, we raised enough funds to cover 80 mammograms — helping women in our community get the care they deserve!

Sometimes online shopping just isn’t the same— and we need a little day out for some retail therapy (our favorite kind)! 🛍️

A few of our ladies enjoyed an afternoon shopping trip in Marion, stopping at Meijer, TJ Maxx, and Hobby Lobby, and topped it off with a delicious lunch at Bob Evans. 🍽️

We’re incredibly grateful to Paradigm Health for providing our team with virtual dementia training! This immersive, hands-on experience gave our staff a deeper understanding of what our residents living with dementia go through each day.

By walking in their shoes—virtually—we’ve gained powerful insights that help us deliver more compassionate, personalized care.

Recently, our dining room was filled with joy, laughter, and toe-tapping tunes thanks to the incredible Mrs. Kate Carpenter! With her guitar, puppets, and storytelling magic, she brought smiles to every face and music to every heart.

Mrs. Kate has spent over 30 years sharing her homespun folk music around the world, and we were honored to be part of her journey. From catchy songs to heartfelt moments, she reminded us all of the power of music to uplift and connect.

Sidney returned to us in March after completing her clinicals here last year, and we couldn’t be happier to have her back. Her dedication to teamwork, compassionate care, and stepping up wherever she’s needed has made a lasting impact on both her co-workers and our residents.

Whether it’s helping with scheduling conflicts or going the extra mile to ensure our residents receive the best care possible, Sidney truly embodies what it means to be a Rising Star.

🌟 Please join us in celebrating our Star of The Week, James! 🌟

We’re honored that James chose The Waters of Wabash West once again for his rehabilitation journey. There’s no greater compliment than a returning patient—it speaks volumes about the care and trust we strive to provide every day.

After undergoing back surgery, James worked closely with our Physical and Occupational Therapy teams to rebuild his strength and independence. Through his determination and the support of our staff, he’s now back home and continuing his recovery. 💪

Let’s all wish James the very best as he moves forward — your resilience inspires us! Thank you for choosing The Waters again! 👏💙
