Starting July 1, Indiana’s cigarette tax increased by $2 per pack – an evidence-based public health policy that will save lives, reduce youth to***co use, and encourage adults to quit smoking.
Wabash County To***co Free Coalition applaud the Indiana General Assembly and Governor Mike Braun for this bold step- raising the cigarette tax for the first time since 2007. Increasing the price of to***co is one of the most effective ways to prevent youth from starting and help current to***co users quit.

According to the America Lung Association, this new tax increase could prompt as many as 38,000 adults in Indiana to quit smoking. That’s a major gain for our communities- reducing the toll of heart disease, cancer, and other to***co related illnesses. There is help available for Hoosiers that want to quit.
