Eat Like The Locals

Okay folks, this is a good one! My friends Zack and Annalyese Sherman have opened a food truck! I will post the current menu, but here's the scoop from today. We split The Big Z Burger, three thick patties of REALLY good beef, cheese, caramelized onions, pickles,and house special sauce, all on a bun that holds up well to all that meat! The beef is juicy, flavorful, and seasoned to perfection! The house special sauce was a wonderful, creamy, slightly spicy delight that provided an excellent counterpoint to the richnes of the beef and cheese! A side of thick cut fries, crispy golden outside, soft and creamy inside, served with the house sauce for dipping. The pair was incredible, and we were mighty glad we split it! We then split the funnel cake for dessert, think fair food on steroids! Thick, light, dense, soft, crispy, all on one plate! The perfect sweet end to a truly great meal! When we went out to thank Zack and Annalyese for the wonderful experience, we were met with the results of Annalyese's experimentation with the fryer: funnelcake battered onion rings! Light, crispy edges, savory yet slightly sweet onions, drizzled with that luscious house sauce! These have GOT to become a regular item! We can't wait to try out the rest of the menu!

Oh my gosh y'all, tried out the new neighborhood place this morning! Delicious Tomato and Olive, and Leek and Parmeson Danish! Excellent Chocolate Croissant and Cinnamon Roll as well! They offer, Biscoff and Dubai Chocolate choices as well. A great, laid back vibe, excellent music, friendly, knowledgeable staff. Gelato and coffee drinks round out the menu. Truly a great place, whether you're dining in, or just grabbing it to go. If y'all aren't eating here, you're missing out!

Tru Jamaica in Waco burned down 3 years ago. They've been keeping alive by serving out of a food truck and a temporary setup in a downtown location. They have re-built and are back in full swing. Their food is authentically Jamaican. It is all amazing! Today we celebrated their comeback with the Oxtails and Curry Goat. We were graciously gifted ground beef patties while we waited. Such a blessing that they pressed on and were able to bring their dream back to life. If you love Jamaican food, or have never tried it, this is a great place to find it. Don't wait! Its popularity is rapidly growing. Welcome back!
