Please congratulate our 2nd Quarter Public Health Hero Award Winner of 2026, Sayra Gallegos!! 🏆 Sayra serves as the Deputy Registrar in the Vital Statistics division and was nominated by her supervisor, Ana Ferrera. 😊

Sayra was nominated and selected for:
• Providing outstanding customer service by always acknowledging clients quickly with a smile and assisting them with their needs.
• Showing extraordinary performance in working to assist clients in person, over the phone, and going above and beyond to provide answers and clarification of records.
• Stepping out of her comfort zone to apply for the City of Waco’s 360 application, a city-wide leadership program, and being selected as a representative of the Health District!
• Taking initiative to assist clients in completing difficult forms and going above and beyond to ensure clients provide the correct documentation needed, even if from other governmental offices.
