There is a huge difference in a photographer and a sonographer! We are lucky that we have multiple options for elective ultrasounds in our area. With the OB/Gyn offices being so super busy, it's understandable to want to see your baby in between diagnostic ultrasounds performed at the doctors office. These ultrasounds are ELECTIVE- meaning they are not diagnostic exams, which will not be read by a physician. With that being said, it is still very important to have a Registered Diagnostic Sonographer perform the exam. All though they are not doctors, and don't pretend to be, they still have the knowledge and skill to recognize any issues that need to be addressed by your doctor. There are 3 studios in Waco that are owned and operated by Diagnostic Registered Sonographers with decades of experience, who do these studies because they love doing it, not because they "have" to. Those studios are Blessed Bump Imaging, The Bashful Baby, and
Cactus Rose Imaging.
The other places popping up in our area are not even associated with an ultrasound tech, much less, a doctor. You have a choice! Please consider this information when booking your ELECTIVE ultrasound!
