🌿 5 Ways to Support Recovery in the First 2 Weeks Postpartum
1. Prioritize Rest 💤
Your body just did incredible work. Sleep when baby sleeps, limit visitors, and give yourself permission to recover. Rest supports healing, milk supply, and emotional balance.
2. Nourish Your Body 🥗
Eat warm, nutrient-dense meals with protein, healthy fats, and fiber. Hydrate well (especially if nursing). Think soups, stews, oats, eggs, and plenty of water.
3. Care for Your Perineum 🌸
Use peri bottles, sitz baths, cold packs, or herbal sprays to reduce swelling and soothe soreness. Keep the area clean and dry to support healing.
4. Support Your Core + Pelvic Floor 🤱
Avoid heavy lifting and high-impact activity. Gentle breathing exercises, belly binding, and short walks help circulation and recovery.
5. Lean on Your Support System 💕
Accept help from family and friends—meals, laundry, or holding baby while you shower. Emotional support is just as important as physical recovery.

✨ Bonus: Stay connected with your midwife. Postpartum visits are a time to ask questions, get reassurance, and ensure your healing is on track.
And remember, here at Waco Birth Center & Clinic, you still have 24/7 direct access to your midwife during your postpartum period.
