Merry Christmas, from my heart to yours. 🤍

For many, today brings connection, warmth, and joy.
For others, it brings tenderness, grief, overwhelm, or complicated family dynamics.
Both experiences — and everything in between — are valid.

If today feels big for your nervous system, try softening into small supports:
✨ Notice one thing in your space that feels comforting
✨ Step outside for a breath of cool air
✨ Offer your body a gentle hand on your heart or belly
✨ Allow yourself permission to feel what you feel

Remember: you don’t have to be “on” today.
You don’t have to perform holiday cheer.
You can honor your own pace, needs, and boundaries and that is a gift to your whole system.

Wishing you presence, warmth, and moments of rest today.

“When we heal ourselves, we heal the world.” — Dr. Thema Bryant

Your healing ripples outward in how you speak, connect, set boundaries, and show up.

Somatic work isn’t selfish. It’s relational care.

Every regulated breath is a contribution to a more compassionate world.

December often brings pressure to “be cheerful,” even when your internal world feels heavy.

This month, consider giving yourself emotional permission slips:

“I’m allowed to rest.”

“I’m allowed to feel what I feel.”

“I don’t have to match the energy around me.”

Self-compassion is a nervous-system practice — it signals to the body:

You are safe to be human here.

When we say “the body keeps the score,” it’s not a metaphor; it’s memory.

Tension, shutdown, anxiety, irritability… they’re often old protective patterns trying to keep you safe.

Somatic therapy helps you update those patterns with compassion instead of judgment.

Notice the next time your body reacts quickly:

What might this part of me be protecting?

“Feelings are not dangerous. Avoiding them is what creates suffering.” — Tara Brach

Somatic therapy helps you create containers for your emotions so they can be felt without overwhelming your system.

You don’t have to dive into the deep end. Tiny doses of awareness, called titration, are enough.

Try asking:

What is one emotion I can allow for just five breaths?

As the season shifts, our bodies often shift with it.

Colder months can slow us down, ask us to turn inward, and nudge our nervous systems toward rest.

Instead of pushing against this natural rhythm, try softening into it.
What sensations tell you your body wants more quiet, warmth, or slowness?

Winter isn’t an interruption to healing; it’s an invitation to tend to what’s beneath the surface.

Your body speaks in sensations long before it speaks in words.

Tightness. Heat. Numbness. Fluttering.

These aren’t inconveniences — they’re messages.

Somatic therapy teaches us to listen to these cues so we can respond with care instead of going into autopilot.

Today, try pausing for 10 seconds and ask:

What is my body saying right now?

As the year closes, many of us feel the pull to “fix” ourselves before January.

But healing doesn’t happen through force. It happens through attention.

If you’re ready to step into 2026 with more calm, clarity, and connection, now is a beautiful time to begin.

Gratitude isn’t just a mindset; it’s a regular practice.

When we slow down enough to name what feels nurturing, warmth, connection, breath, we shift from vigilance to safety.

This Thanksgiving week, try an embodied gratitude check-in:

🌿 Notice one sensation of comfort.
🌿 Place a hand there.
🌿 Breathe until your body recognizes, I’m safe right now.

Gratitude practiced this way grounds us, not in obligation, but in presence.

I’d love to hear - how do you practice gratitude?

Holidays can activate old attachment wounds. The pressure to please, perform, or keep the peace.

Notice what your body says when you think about gathering:

👉 Does your chest tighten?
👉 Do you feel heavy or distant?

That’s information, not weakness.

Honor what your nervous system tells you. It’s okay to set limits or take breaks.

Boundaries are not walls. They’re invitations to connection with safety intact.

Self-trust grows in the small moments you choose to listen to your body.

Each time you honor your own limits, saying no when you mean no, resting when you’re tired, you tell your nervous system, I’ve got you.

This is the foundation of secure attachment: becoming the safe person your body can rely on.
