✨ Happy New Year ✨

As we step into this new year, I want to pause and say thank you.
To the families who trusted me in their birth space—your trust is sacred. It never gets old, and it means so much to me to witness and hold space for such powerful, life-changing moments.

To my placenta encapsulation clients, thank you for trusting me with such a special and meaningful organ. Providing a safe, respectful space for it to be processed and returned to you is always an honor.

I also want to share the reason for my quiet season here—I’ve been preparing our hearts and home for the arrival of our son in February 🤍 This has been a year of deep slowing, listening, and becoming.

As we move into 2026, I’m holding space and hope for all the mamas welcoming babies this year. I’m so excited for a year of meeting our baby, settling into this new rhythm, and letting life unfold as it’s meant to.

🧠 Not all OBs or midwives are created equal.
Yes, they may share the same title—but how they practice, what they prioritize, and how they show up for you can be very different.

Here’s what I mean ⤵️
👩‍⚕️ OB/GYNs are trained surgeons. Many are incredible advocates for physiological birth, but some are heavily guided by hospital protocols, personal comfort with risk, or time constraints. One OB might fully support your birth plan—another may push for interventions before labor even begins.

🧑‍🍼 Midwives also vary widely. A Certified Nurse Midwife (CNM) working in a hospital may have more restrictions than a homebirth CPM (Certified Professional Midwife) or traditional midwife. Some practice with deep reverence for birth as a physiological process. Others are more medicalized or routine-driven. The title doesn’t always reflect their approach.

💡 That’s why it’s so important to go beyond credentials.

Ask the deeper questions:
• How do you feel about labor going past 40 weeks?
• How do you support unmedicated birth?
• What’s your cesarean or induction rate?
• How do you handle complications?
• Will you honor my preferences even if they’re outside the norm?

You deserve a provider who respects your voice, your vision, and your values.

🙋‍♀️ If you’ve ever been told “just trust your doctor” but something inside you hesitated—this is your reminder: your instincts matter.

✨ Titles don’t always tell the whole story. Ask questions. Stay curious. Choose boldly.

This birth was something special. R was focused, powerful, and so deeply in tune with her body. And J —he was exactly who she needed. Quiet strength. Total presence. The way he held space for her, stayed close, breathed with her… it was beautiful to witness. Moments like this remind me why I love this work so much. Birth isn’t just about babies being born—it’s about love showing up in the rawest, realest ways.
