Baylor Helping Hands

We strive to show God's unfailing love to families that have been affected by physical or mental disa This movement began in the Fall of 2016.

It started off by helping a student with Cerebral Palsy who was unable to physically get to class in a timely matter. We raised money to purchase a scooter for him and a great friendship formed. That friendship sparked the organization we now call Baylor Helping Hands. We have been chartered on Baylor University's campus to assist those with physical or mental disabilities. We have purchased medical equipment, painted houses and helped new friends with everyday tasks and activities. Our outreach stretches throughout the Waco community as we strive to show God's love to those in need. Happy Monday Baylor Helping Hands Family!
We are so incredibly excited to announce that we were contacted to help serve someone in our community!
We are looking to raise $3,500 to help pay for a service dog for Charles Thomas Rushing. Charles, who goes by CT, is on the Autism Spectrum and loves to watch black and white movies and going on hikes.

Hello Helping Hands Community! We are excited to have started this semester off and can't wait to share with you all what is in store this year!

We have our first profit share this Wednesday, 28th, with Bitty and Beau's Coffee! We would love to see you there from 12-6, make sure to mention us at the counter.

If you are ever looking for a new coffee shop in town and you haven't gone to Bitty & Beau's then look no further! The goal of the company is to create a path for people with intellectual and developmental disabilities to become more valued, accepted, and included into our communities.

You will be greeted with the biggest smiles from the moment you enter the front door. You may even get to watch a few performances like we did yesterday. Personally, I can't wait to go back!

Hi there BUHH community! It’s been a while but we are slowly but surely trying to be up and running like we were pre-pandemic!

On Friday, we got to help out at the Special Olympics competition that was held at Russell Gym. It was great to be involved again & we can’t wait for the rest of the semester!

Better late than never! We want to take a moment to congratulate our now Baylor alumni- Chase Perkins & Avery Paxton!

Chase earned his Bachelor of Science in Honors Biochemistry with minors in Forensic Science and Chinese. He will be attending Sam Houston State University to pursue a Master's in Forensic Science.

Avery earned her Bachelor of Arts in Corporate Communication and minors in Business Administration and Public Relations. She will be joining the Inside Sales team at Exact Sciences, where she looks forward to empowering patients & providing effecting cancer detection methods to save lives!

We are so proud of you guys! We are grateful for your time and dedication to this organization and our community these past few years. You will be missed next year but don’t forget to come back to visit!

We are so excited to share the news that we accomplished our goal of $4600 for the sunshade for Holland! We would like to take a second and thank each and every person who helped make this possible!

The money has been sent to Aquilla and we will keep you updated with the process. Thank you all once again for your continued support!

We hope everyone was able to stay warm last week! Right now, we are so close to our goal of $4600 for Holland's playground sun shade. Hey there Helping Hands community! We are so excited for this next chance to change another life!
Let us tell you a little bit about Holland! She is a sweet little girl who loves playing outside, especially sliding down slides at the playground. She’s also a Pokémon fanatic who can tell you everything about Pikachu! Holland has a rare condition called Giant Congenital Melanocystic Nevus, which puts her at a higher risk of developing skin cancer. We are raising money to get a sunshade for the playground so she can play with all of her friends!
The sunshade is $4600 in total and is not covered by insurance!! With your donations and Venmo’s, we can help Holland!

GREAT NEWS Helping Hands family!! We have reached our goal of $750 to help Liam get an iPad. Thanks to all of the generous donors who helped make it possible for Liam to get the treatment he needs!! He will now be able to communicate more efficiently and effectively!

We hope everyone had a spooky yet amazing Halloween!! This week we are super excited to help change our community day by day and get new equipment to families in need.

Please meet Liam!! Liam is our 7-year-old friend who loves golf cart rides, feeding cows and listening to music. Liam has a rare form of Down Syndrome called Robertsonian Translocation, where Liam struggles to communicate efficiently and effectively. As a Helping Hands family, we are raising money to get Liam an iPad that will help him communicate in the classroom and help his behavior skills at home. The iPad is $750 in total and is not covered by insurance!! With your donations and Venmo’s, we can help Liam and his family find Liam a solution for communicating!
