Waco Family Medicine welcomes Medicaid, Medicare, and accepts most insurance plans. Waco Family Medicine has the following programs available to assist our patients:

• Good Health Card: a discount only. Discounts can range from 50-80% and do not apply to outside laboratories and X-ray reading fees.
• Title V: provide initial prenatal care for women and medical and dental services for children who do not have medical coverage and do not qualify for any other assistance programs.
• Family Planning: A State funded program that assists men & women with family planning services. We can also help you apply for:
Medicaid, Chip Perinatal, SNAP, TANF, Healthy Texas Women, CHIP and Medicare Part D. Screenings for these programs will be held at the following locations:

The proof of residency and proof of income must be dated within 30 days from the day that you apply. Stay informed about your health by signing up for MyChart at www.mychart.wacofhc.org. MyChart will allow you to communicate with your care team, manage your appointments, access your labs and test results, and learn about your medications.

🚐 BIG NEWS FOR WACO 🚐

Waco Family Medicine’s Mobile & Street Team is officially LIVE!

Bringing medical care directly to individuals experiencing homelessness is now possible thanks to a $2.5 million federal grant from the Health Resources & Services Administration (HRSA).

This is the first program of its kind in our region, delivering trauma-informed primary care through a mobile clinic and on-foot street medicine.

The program also serves as a training site for Waco Family Medicine residents, giving the next generation of physicians hands-on experience caring for patients in community settings and addressing the real-world challenges that impact health.

We are honored to work alongside many community organizations that have long served this population, and to join in finding new ways to bring care directly to those who need it most.

A huge thank you to Emily Humphrey, FNP, and Dr. Ryan Laschober for their leadership in bringing this program to life.

March 4, 2026 marked a powerful day for Waco Family Medicine and the Greater Temple community.

We celebrated the opening of our new, expanded clinic, and we did so while surrounded by community leaders, elected officials, healthcare partners, donors, board members, and our incredible staff.

Moments like this remind us that expanding healthcare access takes many partners. It requires interdependence. This new clinic will serve families across Temple with comprehensive care, pharmacy services, and a commitment to meeting people where they are.

We are deeply grateful to everyone who helped make this day possible. Together, we’re building a healthier future for Central Texas.

We’re incredibly proud of the collaborative research conducted by our team at Waco Family Medicine in partnership with Baylor University.

A new study published in the Annals of Family Medicine highlights a practical, affordable solution to the national interpreter shortage.

Led by Dr. Karol Hardin and D. Mike Hardin Jr., M.D., Chief Clinical Officer at Waco Family Medicine, the research demonstrates that with the right training, heritage Spanish-speaking clinic employees can become qualified medical interpreters, which strengthens communication and health equity in community health centers.

As Jackson Griggs, M.D., CEO of Waco Family Medicine, shared:

“This highly relevant research offers a practical, evidence-based option to strengthen language access in community health centers. Safety and care quality are core priorities for health centers, and that commitment must fully include patients who are more comfortable speaking Spanish.”
