FLOOD RELIEF: More ways to donate.

News of this weekend’s catastrophic flooding has been difficult to watch, and our neighbors to the south are now in desperate need of aid. We know that our citizens are eager to offer that help, so the City of Woodway will accept donations through Thursday afternoon, July 10th and deliver them on Friday morning.

Water and sports drinks originally designated for the “Keeping Cops Cool” program will be redirected to the families and first responders in flood areas. Other donations will be accepted during regular business hours at Woodway Family Center and Woodway Public Safety building.

We want to make sure that we are contributing the items most needed for relief, so please stay tuned to social media so that we can update you if there are changes. We will not be accepting monetary donations, but the Salvation Army and other organizations in the flooded areas have portals for such donations online.

There are a number of different agencies seeking to help the community in various ways. If you plan to donate money to an organization on behalf to flood victims, please be cautious and confirm the organization’s legitimacy.
