Express Emergency Room opened its doors June 3rd in the heart of Waco. This is the third in a chain of free standing emergency rooms owned solely by the physicians who work in the clinics. The company’s mission, “Where Patients Come First”, comes to life the moment someone walks through the door and is shown throughout the visit. A clean building and parking lot is just the beginning; Express ER’s lobby is continually stocked with complimentary coffee, soda, water and even juice boxes. Leather chairs, large T.V.s, and a giant teddy bear make the waiting room feel like walking back into your own living room. But don’t get too comfortable- at Express ER, patients rarely wait more than 5 minutes before they are taken back to an exam room. The doctors at Express ER are board certified in emergency medicine with years of experience, and are complemented by experienced technicians and registered nurses to assure patients get the highest quality of care possible. At Express ER, each patient is not viewed as a number, instead the staff takes the time to listen to the patient’s concerns so that the best possible care is provided. Teddy Bear Clinics are a big hit with Express ER’s younger crowd. These clinics provide children under the age of eight the opportunity to visit the emergency room without an emergency. When a child brings their stuffed animal to a Teddy Bear Clinic, the child tells the doctor what is wrong with the stuffed animal and the doctor takes an X-Ray, examines the “patient” and provides his diagnosis. The child leaves with a candy prescription, a healed teddy bear and peace of mind about the emergency room. Express ER finds that after these visits, children are more comfortable in the emergency room when an actual emergency occurs. The doors of this clinic are never shut, as the clinic welcomes patients twenty-four hours a day. Valley Mills Drive in Waco any time and the caring staff will be happy to discuss any questions and will even provide a free tour of the facility.
