Santa made his rounds at Astera Health yesterday during our Jingle and Mingle event, and got in some extra steps before the big night!

He made stops at each department to spread holiday cheer, take photos, and bring plenty of smiles to our patients and staff. With just over a month until Christmas, he’s clearly warming up for a busy season!

The FDA is removing certain “black box” warnings from menopausal hormone therapy products, a move backed by new research showing that, for many women, the benefits of starting HRT within 10 years of menopause outweigh the risks.

🏅 Astera Health Earns Gold Recognition for Antibiotic Stewardship 🏅

We’re proud to share that Astera Health has once again earned Gold Level honors from the Minnesota Department of Health for our work in antibiotic stewardship and will be recognized on their Honor Roll for the next two years.

So, what does this mean?

It means our team is doing its part to make sure antibiotics are used only when they’re truly needed. Overusing antibiotics can lead to antibiotic resistance, making it harder to treat infections in the future, not just here, but everywhere.

Our team, which includes staff from lab, pharmacy, nursing, providers, infection prevention, and more, works together to:
✅ Track antibiotic use
✅ Educate caregivers and patients
✅ Follow smart guidelines
✅ Monitor local resistance trends

This award reflects our commitment to keeping antibiotics effective for our patients today and for generations to come.

Lung cancer and other serious lung diseases often don’t show symptoms until later stages, but early detection saves lives. If you're experiencing any of the following warning signs, it’s time to talk to your primary care provider:
