All treatment and placement services provided to each youth are in compliance with specific case plans and goals which are set at the time of placement in Bridgeway Home. Placement services include:
Residential living in a community setting
Provision of all approprate shelter,care,maintenance,daily supervision and case management activities
Neighborhood public schools providing a full range of academic and special educational needs
Opportunity for vocational training at public career centers
Accessibility to all necessary counseling and theapu services provided by licensed community mental health facilities( Child Guidance, Summit Psychological Associates, AA, etc.) Provision of all necessary health-realted services- including medical, dental, optical, psychological, and adminsitration of all necessary medication, treatment and therapy services
Transportation of each child to all necessary appointments
Availability of employment oppurtunities for older youth
Personal management of earnings from employment
Family involvement with the treatment plan and coordination, facilitation, and supervision of visitation with family members,in accordance with the child’s case plan
Oppurtunity to participate in any cultural, ethnic, community and religious activities appropriate to the child’s background – including athletic teams, church youth groups, boy/girl scouts etc. Personal hygiene and laundry accountability for those who are capable
Availability of individual cooking and kitchen responsibility
Independent living skills education and oppurtunity to practice those skills
Ongoing telephone and direct contact communication with those approved in the child’s case plan
Submission of treatment plan and quaterly progress reports Bridgeway Home currently has two separate homes capable of providing emergency placement services for children ages 10-21. in Norton, Ohio and is licensed by the State of Ohio for up to ten beds. This home sits on a beautiful, wooded 2 acres of land and is less than 1 mile from the Norton Fire Department as well as the Norton Police Station. The home for girls is found on Farr Rd in Wadsworth, Ohio and is licensed by the State for an additional seven beds. Bridgeway Home is a non-secure, family based group home with live-in staff/house parents. The boy’s home in Norton has six bedrooms, four bathrooms, family room, dining room, living room, kitchen, office, finished recreation room in the basement and an attached two car garage. Each resident has his own bed, dresser and closet space. All residents are safely monitored 24hrs a day by our certified staff. Client records are maintained in a locked filing cabinet located in the safety of the staff office. We keep these records available to staff to better serve the child according to his/her specific medical/behavioural needs. The girl’s home in Wadsworth has been licensed since January 2000. It has five bedrooms, four bathrooms,family room,dining room, living room,office, finished recreation room in the basement and a two car attached garage. It is conveniently located less than a mile from the Weese’s home in Wadsworth. Both the home for boys and the home for girls are thought to be excellent atmospheres for developing challenged teens and children who’s strongest desire is to be as close to home as possible. At Bridgeway it is our goal to establish a home in which the child can feel safe and loved as he stays with us and we believe whole heartedly that we we have been doing an excellent job with that for over 15 years.
