Just taking a moment to share that our ancient wisdom for modern motherhood has been rescheduled to Sunday, December 7 from 9 AM to 1 PM.

We hope this makes it more accessible for all of you who reached out, and for those of you who didn’t! While the main guide of this gathering is the postpartum period called Sutika Kala. In Ayurveda and many ancient cultures or nature-based cultures they honor this period as a time of rest, transition and recalling a woman’s parts back to wholeness. It doesn’t matter the age of your baby. Every mother could use a little more support in the area of recovery!

Eat warm, soft, easy to digest foods, don’t overcomplicate them keep it simple, your digestion will thank you.

Take time throughout your day for deep rhythmic breaths.

Out in the garden, the ‘awapuhi (Shampoo Ginger, Zingiber zerumbet) is blooming — those radiant red pinecones filled with silky, fragrant juice that nature designed as the perfect shampoo and conditioner.

When you gently squeeze the mature cone, it releases a creamy nectar that softens, cleanses, and nourishes hair and skin. Hawaiian tradition has long honored ‘awapuhi kuahiwi for its cooling, moisturizing, and purifying properties — a gift straight from the ‘āina (earth).
