On Thursday, August 1st, 2024 around 1 pm, a large brush fire began spreading in Makaha Valley. We began the process of evacuating our residents, when we were given the “all clear” by Emergency Medical Services to return to the building.

Our resident’s safety is our utmost priority, and we will continue to closely monitor the situation.

We are pleased to announce that we have a new Administrator for Puʻuwai O Makaha, Shonaline Garduque! Shonaline has over five years of experience in long-term care, and previously served as an Administrator-in-Training at Hale Nani Rehabilitation and Nursing (a 288-bed skilled nursing facility in Honolulu). Shonaline has a Bachelor’s degree in Public Health and a Master’s degree in Health Administration.
