Aloha Kakou!
Naupaka is fruiting on the Westside.
They are a wonderful laau- medicine!
Many many years ago, when his son was a little boy and got stung by a bee, Kaipoi Kellings asked me to go gather a few of the white berries, which he then smashed, and then gently rubbed on his son’s bee sting. In a few minutes his son stopped crying and was up and running around on the beach again.
Since then we have applied it successfully to bee stings, red ant bites and the itch the day after, Portuguese man of war, scorpion sting, hives, mosquito bites…
It only fruits part of the year, so we gather and put it in the freezer.
`Aina loves us and constantly provides for our well-being.

Been cooking Ulu on the fire for 20 years and yesterday afternoon for the first time had one EXPLODE! Was walking by the fire and BOOM got splattered with Ulu shrapnel.
My son Daniel said he had one explode in the oven.
LMK if you’ve had a similar experience.

Aloha kakou!
We would appreciate some strong kokua tomorrow if anyone is available. It’s our first Kiawe bean washing of the season and one of our crew is MIA and one is out for two hours for lifeguard training and that leaves us really short handed.
Must warn you.
Washing beans is probably the hardest work in the kiawe season and that is mostly because you’re in the full sun the whole time. So if you’re not strong in the heat, then this is not a job for you.
We start at 8 AM and shoot to be done by noon or 1 PM latest- before it gets to really hot.
We be jammin, so if you like the jammin LMK.
Call or text me @ 8084786492.
