We came together for a little Birthday bash in the park yesterday and took a moment to ask Lynnell and Ewa, participants in the Special Olympics and our Medicaid Waiver Program, about their favorite aspects of being involved.

Lynnell shared that she enjoys serving as the assistant photographer, capturing moments, and contributing creatively. Ewa expressed her enthusiasm for the paper shredding tasks, highlighting her satisfaction in completing meaningful work.

With the support of the program, we have successfully expanded our community programs and partnerships. One of those is our collaboration with Whole Foods on Wednesdays which enables Ka Lima O Maui program participants to receive a diverse selection of food donations from Whole Foods Kahului 🥬🥕🍎🛒

This partnership has not only benefited our participants but has also played a vital role in addressing food security challenges for numerous families over the years. We're grateful for the continual, reliable donations from Whole Foods and their dedication to those we serve in the community 🙏

Our partnership with SourceAmerica has created opportunities that make a difference in our community 🤝 Through the Program, Braeden as part of the Grounds and Custodial team at the Wailuku Armory, is an example of what's possible when employment is inclusive. Meet our Laundry Department team members, Jeanette and Jericho 🤙 Equipped with commercial washers and dryers and operating five days a week, this vertical integration is a key part of the Ka Lima O Maui program. Disabled custodial staff handle cleaning for community and private contracts, laundering cloths, rags, and mop heads used in those services 💪
