Temple Grandin, a world-renowned scientist and autism advocate, is autistic. As a child, she had difficulty speaking and struggled to connect with others. But over time, she developed her unique way of understanding the world, especially through visual thinking. Today, she is one of the most influential voices in animal science, designing humane livestock systems used around the world, and advocating for autism acceptance.

Her story reminds us that different ways of thinking can lead to incredible innovation and impact.

Please stay alert, follow official updates, and check in on your loved ones, especially those who may need extra support. We’ve been through this before, and we’ll get through this one too.

During the Emergency Supplies & Food Distribution held on March 27–28, community members across Manaʻe and Kaunakakai came together to access essential resources and support. The event provided critical items such as food, water, tarps, and cleaning supplies to those affected, helping meet immediate needs.

Aloha Independent Living Hawaii (AILH) was proud to be part of this collaborative effort, supporting individuals with disabilities and ensuring access to vital resources during this time.

This event highlighted the strength of community partnerships, with local organizations and volunteers working together to ensure no one was left behind. Moments like these reflect the true meaning of mālama and resilience in our communities.
