A virtual panel brought together the League of Women Voters of Hawaiʻi and Aloha Independent Living Hawaiʻi to center disability inclusion in civic life. The conversation highlighted that accessibility goes beyond voting it includes access to information, testimony, representatives, and participation in formats that work for everyone. Panelists emphasized lived experience, respect, and the importance of including disabled voices from the very beginning of policy and decision-making. Community listening sessions across the islands will help guide the next steps of this work.
