MRVAS and Waitsfield Fire Department Strengthen Emergency Communications with New Repeater System
The Mad River Valley Ambulance Service (MRVAS) and the Waitsfield Fire Department have significantly improved emergency communications with the installation of a new repeater system. This critical upgrade enhances radio coverage and reliability for first responders, ensuring faster and more effective emergency response throughout the Valley.
The new system is housed at the Geiger family’s barn, and both MRVAS and the Waitsfield Fire Department extend their sincere gratitude to the Geigers for their generosity in allowing this vital infrastructure to be placed on their property. In addition to MRVAS’ new system, the Waitsfield Fire Department’s existing repeater was relocated to this site, further strengthening emergency communication capabilities in the region.
MRVAS new repeater, which exceeded $30,000 in cost, would not have been possible without the support of Valley towns, local businesses, and generous individuals who recognize the importance of maintaining strong emergency communication systems.
A special thank you goes to MRVAS members Kevin Van Schaick, Andrew Spencer and Erik Reisner, whose dedication and hard work were instrumental in making this project a reality.
MRVAS deeply appreciates the ongoing support from the community and remains committed to providing high-quality emergency medical services to the Valley. For more information about MRVAS or to learn how you can support or volunteer, visit our website at www.mrvas.org.
