I have been pondering on what I can do to kickstart HERd, because making a page and actually getting it started are 2 different things! Something incredible came to me, so I want to share! I'm not 100% sure on dates yet, but this will be happening before Christmas. I kept asking myself, how can I reach women and the community...of coarse, the best way I personally know how...in my chair!! I want to put together 2 events in the coming weeks!

1st event, I want to do a haircut fundraiser. I don't want your money for this event! I will be doing haircuts for a full day, in exchange for feminine or hygeine products! Shampoo, soap, pads, tampons, deodarant...ect! If your not in need of a haircut, but would still like to donate, that would be greatly appreciated ❤

2nd event, I want to take a full Saturday and give free haircuts to any women and/or their children in need! This gives me a chance to get to know them and their story, vice versa! Also a chance to hand out any hygeine products that are needed. This world lacks human connection, I want to start to rebuild it!

I need everyone's help sharing these events when they become available, as the internet is a powerful tool to connect the right people to me, who are in need!

Hello, I wanted to introduce myself, My name is Beth. Some of you know me for different reasons, but on this platform, I want everyone to know me as a friend! This project has been on my heart for quite some time, so I finally decided to make it a reality! I'm putting myself out there, which is incredibly scary(fear of being judged), but 17 years ago I made some VERY dumb decisions that landed me at IWP for a sentencing of 1 1/2 years. Prison doesn't offer alot of resources when you leave(at least they didn't when I left) so for many, getting out is scarier than being in! Even with the support of family and friends, nothing prepares you for the transition back into society. Filling out job applications only to be denied because your now a felon, or being rejected for an apartment for the same reason! The feeling of hopelessness is very real! That's where I want to help! I want to be able to point you in the right direction for jobs who will hire felons and help in finding places to live! I also will be providing any feminine hygiene products you might need such as tampons, pads, shampoo, conditioner, soap...ect! I will have hygeine bags for ANY women that needs help with such things, please don't hesitate to ask! I also plan on starting a support group, that will meet once a week, for all women who need mental support! I've been through so many things in my life, including domestic abuse, I would love to offer advice, love and support to any women going through that or have gone through that also! My main goal is to offer hope to all women, that there is a beautiful life after prison, domestic abuse, feeling hopeless...ect, and I am willing to help you make it there! Side note, this is a non profit organization, I will be doing alot of fundraisers ❤️ I also want to add, even if you have never been to prison or been abused, maybe your an exhausted mother or just feeling alone and hopeless, my support extends to you too!
