We had the sweetest surprise at The Waters! 🐑💛

Andrea, our Marketing & Admissions Director, recently welcomed baby lambs on her family farm — and she was kind enough to bring one in to visit us! Her daughter named the 6-day-old lamb Luna, and she completely stole the show.

The smiles on our residents’ faces said it all. Many of them grew up on farms and raised sheep themselves, so Luna’s visit brought back so many special memories and stories. It was such a meaningful moment of connection and joy for everyone.

Thank you, Andrea, for sharing a little piece of your farm — and for making our day extra special! 💕

A Sweet Valentine’s Day at The Waters! ❤️

Chelsea from Heartland Hospice joined us for a special Kitchen Club with our residents, and it was the perfect way to celebrate. Together, we made white chocolate–covered pretzels topped with festive Valentine sprinkles — and yes, they were just as delicious as they sound! 🍫🥨

The creativity didn’t stop there. Our residents also made homemade Valentine’s cards for the “Sunshine Girls,” the wonderful 5th grade students from Wakarusa 5th Grade Girls, who visit to read with them. It’s always so special to see these intergenerational friendships grow. 💌📚

A day filled with sweet treats, heartfelt notes, and even sweeter connections. 💕

It’s Wellness Wednesday and is what we do best! 💙

At The Waters we focus on wellness in every way:

🧠 Mental Wellness: Residents often visit the Wakarusa Library for a computer class — because learning never stops! Staying curious and building new skills keeps our minds sharp and engaged.

🩺 Physical Wellness: Robbin makes her rounds checking weights and blood pressures to help everyone stay on track with their health goals.

🏐 Movement & Social Wellness: It’s always a good time for a lively game of Chair Volleyball — and let’s just say, it’s a resident favorite! Laughter, friendly competition, and teamwork make it so much fun.

Wellness isn’t just one thing — it’s caring for the whole person, and we love doing just that!

Our amazing Dietary Team never disappoints — serving up delicious options. Sometimes they go out of their way to help us celebrate fun National Days! Yesterday, they served up some Homemade Ham and Bean Soup for ! 🥣🫘

A very special thank you to our incredible Dietary Manger, Tim Eisele who ensures that no matter the meal, every plate is made with care to help our residents feel happy, satisfied, and energized.

Last night, our residents proudly cheered on Indiana University Hoosiers during their College Football National Championship victory! 🏆🏈

Out fishing! 🎣🦆

Earlier this week, we celebrated by going “fishing”! Our residents used grabbers to catch rubber ducks and fish them out — a fun activity that also helped strengthen hand-eye coordination.

And we had a Lucky Duck winner who reeled in 12 ducks in just 30 seconds! 🏆🦆

We had Laurie from Dunes Hospice LLC stop by this week to host a Peanut Auction - and it was an absolute SHELL of a good time! 🥜🎉

Our residents had a blast bidding peanuts to win prizes, and Laurie brought along so many fun and fabulous items to choose from. The excitement was high, the bids were flying, and the smiles were nonstop!

Best of all, everyone walked away a winner — each resident left with at least one gift, and many scored two or even three! 🎁😄

Thank you, Laurie, for bringing the fun, the laughter, and such a memorable experience to our community. We can’t wait to do it again! 💙

Today is , and The Waters of Wakarusa would like to show our heartfelt appreciation to Tim Hershberger, Chief of Police of the Wakarusa Police Department, and to all of the dedicated officers who work hard every day to keep our community safe. 👮‍♂️

A special thank you to Chief Tim for taking the time to visit with our residents and share important information about scams and staying safe—whether over the phone or online. He provided valuable insight, answered great questions, and helped empower our residents with knowledge they can use every day.

Thank you, Tim, for coming to speak with us! We are truly grateful for the Wakarusa Police Department and all that you do for our community. 🚓
