Facet joints serve as the connecting link between the bones in the posterior or back part of the spine. These joints facilitate movements like twisting, flexing, and extension. Inflammation in these joints can give rise to pain. A facet joint injection entails the administration of medication directly into or adjacent to the facet joint. The medication typically consists of a long-lasting steroid and an anesthetic numbing agent. When delivered directly into the affected area, this combination of medication works to reduce joint inflammation and swelling. Generally, this procedure is recommended for individuals experiencing neck, arm, low back, or leg pain caused by facet joint inflammation, and who have not responded to other conservative treatments. You may be a candidate if you have ✔️Sciatica ✔️Spinal stenosis ✔️Arthritis ✔️Postoperative pain ✔️Spondylolysis. Learn more about Facet Joint Injections and let Carolina Pain and Spine help you today. https://carolinapainandspine.com/services/

How does Radiofrequency ablation help relieve pain? If you suffer from chronic pain, radiofrequency ablation (RFA) may offer a minimally invasive solution. Radiofrequency ablation is a procedure that uses targeted radiofrequency energy to disrupt pain signals from damaged nerves and tissues to the brain. This treatment can provide effective long-term or permanent relief for many types of pain, including back, neck, and joint pain. During the procedure, a needle is inserted near the targeted nerves or tissue. Radiofrequency energy is then delivered through the needle, heating the area and disrupting nerve function. This interruption in pain signaling can reduce or eliminate pain. If you have a pain condition that has not responded well to more conservative treatments, find out if radiofrequency ablation could help you achieve the pain relief you need. Are you a candidate for Trigger Point Injections? Trigger point injections may provide relief for patients experiencing myofascial pain in the neck, shoulders, arms, legs, or back. Trigger points are hypersensitive knots that can develop within muscles. When present, they can cause localized or referred pain. During a trigger point injection, a medication is administered directly into the trigger point using a small needle. This works to temporarily deactivate the trigger point. If you have been experiencing deep muscle pain that will not resolve through rest, medication, or physical therapy, trigger point injections may be a worthwhile option to explore. Schedule a consultation with Carolina Pain and Spine to determine if you are a good candidate for this minimally invasive pain relief procedure. Addressing and deactivating trigger points can help improve mobility and quality of life. https://carolinapainandspine.com/services/

Nerve Block Injections offer an effective treatment for Chronic Pain Management. If you suffer from chronic pain, you may be a candidate for a nerve block injection. This procedure utilizes imaging technology to precisely locate the nerves responsible for transmitting pain signals. Then, a medication is injected directly into the targeted nerve area. The goal is to interrupt pain signaling or decrease inflammation, allowing the body an opportunity to heal. Contact Carolina Pain and Spine to determine if a nerve block injection could provide relief for your chronic pain. https://carolinapainandspine.com/services/

What is Degenerative disc disease? DDD is the wearing down of spinal discs, which are rubbery cushions located between the bones in your spinal column. These discs act as shock absorbers and facilitate comfortable movement, bending, and twisting. It is a natural part of aging for everyone's spinal discs to degenerate over time. The primary symptoms of degenerative disc disease are neck pain and back pain. The pain may come and go, lasting for weeks or months at a time, and it can cause numbness or tingling in the arms or legs. Additionally, the pain may radiate down the lower back and buttocks and worsen with sitting, bending, or lifting. DDD is caused by the natural aging process, which leads to the wearing down of spinal discs. As people age, the soft core of the discs, which is primarily composed of water, gradually loses water content. Consequently, the discs become thinner and offer less shock absorption than before. Minor injuries can also result in small cracks in the spinal discs, often near nerves. These tears can be painful, even if they are minor. The pain associated with DDD can occur in the neck or lower back and may extend into the arms, hands, buttocks, and legs. Contact Carolina Pain and Spine today to find out more about degenerative disc disease and the treatments available. https://carolinapainandspine.com/services/

Curious about Kyphoplasty? Kyphoplasty is a minimally invasive surgical procedure that can provide significant pain relief for patients experiencing compression fractures of the spine. The procedure aims to stabilize the fracture and help restore height and reduce deformities in the spine. During the procedure, a cement-like material is injected into the targeted area, which hardens within the bone, supporting and stabilizing the fracture to prevent further collapse. For patients suffering from painful spinal fractures, kyphoplasty provides an effective solution. Please contact Carolina Pain and Spine to schedule a consultation to evaluate if you're a candidate for kyphoplasty to achieve a pain-free lifestyle once again. https://carolinapainandspine.com/services/

If you suffer from spinal stenosis, it means that the bony canals - or the passageways - through which your nerves and spinal cord travel have become narrowed. This can be caused by arthritis, which causes the facet joints and ligaments to become enlarged and thicker. This in turn restricts the space for the nerves, leading to inflammation and resulting in symptoms like pain, numbness or weakness. This condition is most often acquired due to age-related degeneration of the spine or traumatic injury to the spine. How does the Mild Procedure work? This minimally invasive lumbar decompression is an outpatient procedure that relieves pressure on the spine. This procedure is used to treat chronic lower back pain caused by lumbar spinal stenosis, a condition in which the spinal canal narrows and compresses the spinal nerves. The procedure involves inserting a small device through a tiny incision in the back and using it to remove small pieces of bone and tissue that are causing the compression. This helps to relieve pressure on the nerves to restore proper function, reduce pain, and improve mobility. Find out if you're a candidate by contacting Carolina Pain and Spine today. https://carolinapainandspine.com/services/

Are you experiencing neck, shoulder, or arm pain due to a pinched nerve in your cervical or lumbar spine? Common causes include herniated disks, spinal stenosis, or radiculopathy. An epidural steroid injection may provide relief. During this procedure, an anti-inflammatory medication is administered into the epidural space surrounding the spinal nerves. This works to decrease pressure and swelling, which may be exacerbating pain. Epidural steroid injections have been shown to successfully reduce inflammation and associated pain. If you have been suffering from chronic back, neck, or leg pain, an epidural steroid injection could help. To determine if you may benefit from this treatment option, please contact Carolina Pain and Spine to schedule a consultation. We are happy to evaluate your condition and discuss whether epidural injections may help provide relief for your spinal pain. https://carolinapainandspine.com/services/

Facet joints are small joints located at each segment of the spine that provide stability and assist in guiding movement. Facet joint pain can result from wear and tear over time, the natural aging process, injury, or misuse. You may qualify for facet joint injections to diminish inflammation and pain in the target region. During this procedure, an anesthetic and corticosteroid are administered into the joint to validate whether it is the source of your discomfort. Find out if you're a candidate for facet joint injections and talk to a specialist at Carolina Pain and Spine for an evaluation! https://carolinapainandspine.com/services/

Radiofrequency ablation is a minimally invasive procedure that uses radiofrequency energy to treat pain by disrupting nerve signaling. During the procedure, a probe emitting radiofrequency energy is inserted near targeted nerves or tissues. This process alters nerve pathways and can provide effective long-term relief for certain types of chronic and acute pain. Radiofrequency ablation may be a treatment option for patients experiencing pain associated with conditions such as back pain, neck pain, or joint pain. If you have been struggling with chronic pain and are seeking a minimally invasive solution, find out if you're a candidate.
