A tightness is better than a sprain.

Here’s why 👇

Your body is always communicating.
Sometimes it whispers. Sometimes it yells.

A tightness? That’s a whisper.
A sprain? That’s your body turning up the volume.

When the right muscles are working correctly, the injury risk is reduced—and those signals don’t need to get so loud.

When you’re stronger, more balanced, and better supported, your body doesn’t have to escalate.

That’s what we mean by holding the lead—staying ahead of breakdown instead of reacting to it.

This is the idea behind our 6 Green Zones: a regenerative, longevity-focused approach to rehab and movement.

Aging doesn’t mean movement has to be painful.

Jaw pain? You’re going to definitely want to check out these two exercises!

Dr Alyssa is one of our two providers that treat TMJ/TMD in both our Wake Forest and Raleigh locations.

To have a healthy jaw, it’s important to look at tongue function. You might be surprised and what you can, or have some difficulty doing.

Bone health is something we don't often think about until there is a problem.

But bone density changes slowly so the more we can do regularly matters more than what we do occasionally.
This is why we offer our Strength Training for Osteoporosis class three times a week.
Monday, Wednesday, and Friday at 10am.

Learn to strength train the right way and help manage osteoporosis and improve bone health. Increase your bone density, maintain muscle mass, and reduce the risk of fractures. We take a careful approach to strength training for the specific needs and limitations of osteoporosis and osteopenia.

You don’t have to navigate this diagnosis alone — we’re here to help you move with confidence. 💪🦴

The wheel came into widespread use around 3500 BC and since then, we have not stopped innovating to improve life.

The old adage “necessity is the mother of all invention” remains true today as ever.

When it comes to the physical human body — simply thinking muscles here — there are two necessities that we need to maintain to carry on.

One is being able to look straight ahead without having to alter our head and neck to compensate to allow us to gaze outwards for social, functional and protective purposes.

The other is being able to walk upright to carry us from point A to point B.

Yes, we need to be able to squat, sit upright and reach high but those things are do not happen as consistent as walking or horizontal gaze.

We have taken this knowledge that is a necessity, created a test and based off results, come up with a plan to help you optimize these functions.

It is called our 6 Green Zones.

If you feel like you need an innovation to your body, come on in for a 6 Green Zone consult so we can help you.

If this is something that can make your life better, feel free to contact us at 919-728-0335 or schedule online to get you back on track!

Dizzy but no headache? It could still be a vestibular migraine. In fact, up to 75% of vestibular migraine attacks happen without headache. They can appear as dizziness, motion sensitivity or visual overload.

Crowded spaces, scrolling on your phone or watching TV, and/or riding in the car can all trigger symptoms.

If motion or visual input makes you feel off-balance, your vestibular system might be asking for support.

Positional vertigo is a common type of dizziness, and the subjective symptoms can be very telling.

When I have a patient coming in telling me any of the following, I know we will be testing them for positional vertigo

Dizziness lasting less than 20-30 seconds
Dizziness with rolling or bending over
Dizziness that feels like they are spinning or the room is spinning

We then utilize technology to help us determine which canal and type they are experiencing so we can lay out a clear plan of action

Rib flare is often a key piece of the puzzle when it comes to building true core strength and creating a strong connection between the upper and lower body.

When the ribs flare forward, the upper core muscles are often underutilized. This makes it harder to generate deep, functional strength through the entire trunk. Instead of working as an integrated system, the body compensates.

Two of my favorite cues to address rib flare are:

1️⃣Tuck the pelvis slightly and stack the ribs over the pelvis. Think of bringing your ribcage back in line with your hips so your torso feels aligned and supported.

2️⃣Actively “zip up” the core from the p***c bone to the sternum. Imagine drawing everything upward and inward to create tension through the full length of your midline.

Rib flare can stem from several factors, including stiffness in the thoracic spine and rib cage, compensatory breathing patterns, or postpartum changes that affect abdominal and core function. Addressing it isn’t about forcing the ribs down — it’s about restoring alignment, mobility, and balanced strength so the core can do its job effectively.

Stiffness is better than being locked up.

Here’s why 👇

Your body is always communicating.
Sometimes it whispers. Sometimes it yells.

Stiffness? That’s a whisper.
Being locked up? That’s your body turning up the volume.

When the right muscles are working correctly, the injury risk is reduced—and those signals don’t need to get so loud.

When you’re stronger, more balanced, and better supported, your body doesn’t have to escalate.

That’s what we mean by holding the lead—staying ahead of restriction instead of reacting to it.

This is the idea behind our 6 Green Zones: a regenerative, longevity-focused approach to rehab and movement.

Aging doesn’t mean movement has to feel stuck.
